  1. Not really, we have a friend that has a riding stables, she does all kinds of summer camps with kids and she normally takes a bunch for the kids to maul, but this year these pups were born too late for her to take, so we'll just walk them ourselves

  3. We bed the hounds down on wood shavings, and when it starts to get really cold oat straw on top and shavings on the base
  4. here are some of next years entry , they are american/english crosbreds all were taken at high ISO 1600 and 3200, with a Canon 1D mk3 and 70-200L 2.8 LMP39567 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP39547 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP39394 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP39456 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP39524 by foxhound51, on Flickr
  5. We use telemetry tacking collars on all hounds which also have the kennels address on, I've never lost a hound yet or had one hung up, the trackers are brilliant, I remember back at home losing a hound a you'd go and blow with the hunting horn for hours and try all the places you last saw it or wait for a phone call of a sighting, the tracking collars eliminate all that messing around, the batteries are good for 8000 hrs so you don't have the problem of the battery running out before you find them, which can be a problem with the GPS systems, the downside is there expensive, collars run around
  6. No mate, started in the west country, then the lakes, then Scotland , Ireland , Italy and Canada so I've been about a bit
  7. Its a camera capable of taking stunning shot's, and as for it being dated, anything over 6 months old now is dated, the one thing i would say is ditch the 18-55mm, and buy the staight prime 50mm lens, its cheap but a very good little lens
  8. It depends on the sniff, our country has vast tracts of corn, somtimes 1000acre blocks so hounds work corn alot, it also depends if the coyote has been hunted before, as a formal pack, we are not the only ones hunting coyotes, there are lots of lads with there own hounds that hammer the coyotes, so if the coyote has had a run in with hounds at some point it knows to get moving, the scent on Wednesday morning was better than it has been but I wouldn't have said it was a good scent, which is why the coyote probably stuck around for so long , that and the fact it was a young one that probably did
  9. We met at 9.00am this morning, hounds were very keen despite the high temps, we drew the first field of alfalfa with the thought of maybe putting up a hare ( because of the scarcity of quarry we hunt coyote, hare and fox here at London) but to no avail, so we quickly moved on to a 50 acre strip of maize (yellow corn they call it here in Canada ) I drew through the corn and few hounds spoke and then a few more until all 20 1/2 couple were screaming , they hunted back and forth for about 20mins until I heard on the radio a coyote had been viewed going out of the north end of the corn and across
  10. I think it will be the same way as the Americans do it Probably with static correction aka ( fry the buggers with a shock collar) or shoot them in the arse with rat shot
  11. Like Busciut says , higher fat content is just as, if not more important than protein, we feed a bag food that's 20% fat 26% protein and it stays in the hound, ( very little waste) if you feed cheap crap, with a high percentage of yellow corn( maize) the hounds just shit it out, been there got the t shirt , you're better off feeding less of a more expensive feed than feeding a load of cheap crap that the hounds just shit out
  12. Ive started hunting now so less time to spend behind the camera, starting at 4am and finshing sometimes at 7pm doesnt give me much time, so just a few of the dogs LMP38939 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP39054 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP39006 by foxhound51, on Flickr
