  7. Yeah there not the most prettiest thing on four legs, they have amazingly long almost crocadillion like tails, which you cant really see in the pictures, its quite sad you see them hit on the roads from time to time, people dont seem to slow down for them and run right over the top of them i always try and stop if its safe to, and make sure they get across the road, its not there fault somones built a bunch of houses where he and his ancestors have laid there eggs for years
  8. I resued this fella crossing the road in front of our place the other day, no doubt off to lay her eggs, she was quite a good size , maybe 1ft 1/2 wide , they have lightening reactions though, nearly got me a few times LMP32907 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP32910 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP32915 by foxhound51, on Flickr

  10. CH, you put a post and picures up, so don't be supprised when people reply; after all, it is a FORUM for discussion. The majority of replies were not what you wanted to hear, but WERE polite. You seem to have made your mind up regarding coupling your Whippets, most others think it's a bad idea, that's life ! Best of luck with your dogs, but don't think everyone else is wrong, just because it's not what you want to hear ! Cheers. Hey Chartpolski, I didn't mean to sound short, and everyone's entitled to there views, regardless to wether i think there right or wrong, i would regard myself

  12. Weasel , i'm not an American, since when has an American flag had a Maple Leaf on it im English
  13. Ok... firstly i live in Canada as you might tell from the flag under my avatar, Canada in case you're not aware has very few rabbits and any rabbits that are around are certainly no where near my property, so that strikes that theory out of the water, as for injury , a dog is a dog is a dog . wether its a foxhound or a whippet, i have had hounds in awefull tangles on couples and the hound has had no ill effects why would a running dog be any different the main reason for this is the pups are being crate trained in the house, when i go in to let them out for to do there business i can let th
  14. Im a professional huntsman for a pack of hounds and have always trained the foxhound pups with couples, for those of you who dont know what im talking about i'll give you a quick rundown, the younger hound is put on a couple ( similar but bigger to a terrier couple) with an older experienced hound and when a command is given to the old hound the pups is dragged along and the pup learns from association, so....... to get to my point, ive kept back two whippet puppies from a litter i bred and have decided to try this out with them. keeping two pups back is difficult because they tend to gang up
  15. Thanks for all your kind comments , and yes they are posing litle sods
  16. That's a very naive statement , I have been in hunt service for nearly 20 seasons and in general most 10th season hounds would be on the slower side, but having said that I've known 2 or 3 that have ran up with the rest well into their 9th and 10th seasons, just because a hound is older does not mean he's a detriment to the pack, on the contrary, poor scenting days when younger hounds go flashing past the line it's the older ones that keep the hounds on terms, I'm quite sure the huntsman would not still have this hound hanging around if he wasn't of some benefit to the pack . JMHO
  17. Very nice , i'm with Undisputed, the 4th is my fave too , a couple of them look like quite heavy crops
