    It's not always drugs, y'know. Since car immobilisers have become more standard, raiding the home violently for the car keys has got a lot more common. There were quite a few instances of it when i was a member of a sports car club. Mebbe that's why so many of them kept strong dogs. Joking. But yes i'm sure they were after the several sportscars in the drive. I like the way not one of them thought to. . . . . shoot the f*****g dog.

    I agree with you up to a point seen some really good whippet and Greys work well. But the the whole reason the lurcher evolved into these x's was largely due to the shortcomings of the aforementioned breeds ie stamina lack of coat etc. Not entirely true. Originally the greyhound was THE coursing and hunting dog of choice, and would be used to tackle all quarry, there were several 'types' of greyhound, some regional, i.e 'Scotch greyhound'.     That's just cos they are current flavour of the month. There are innumerate x's which will and do make excellent rabbit dogs, pretty much anything between 18-26 inches that comes from good working lines will do the trick. As for your neighbours greyhound/wolfhound x - the reason people suggested it might be deer hound is that if it was originally bred for working, very few people in their right mind would use a wolfhound in a breeding programme as they are hardly used for work and so would be from a show line, and they are too big and clumpy to catch much at all. jai.

    Spot on mate, thats a good effort for a first time with young kits. . . . . you must be made up. With regards to nets, have you tried any spun poly, i find it a nice compromise between nylon and hemp, doesn't tangle so bad and doesn't rot, and also can come in handy bright colors. There is a member off here who makes some really good ones in spun poly and another who makes really cracking hemp nets, if you want their contact details gimmie a shout.

    So you are telling me that if i take 100 dogs bred from long working lines and 100 dogs from lines of non workers then the success rate at working will be even in both groups? There is your answer.

    Aye. . . .. . why kill something just for the sake, if its no causing any harm enjoy it for what it is. I always try to respect and enjoy watching fellow hunters no matter what size of shape, as long as they are not causing excessive damage.

    Scatty, fairly fine boned, dog aggressive. . . . . .. but i've only seen one.

    Running with an older dog will make it worse because he will be beat to the quarry everytime and get more frustrated. It's all about taking it slow and steady and giving him lots of easy success with squatters on the lamp on a good windy, rainy night.

Also if i had two dogs that were absolutly outstanding on rabbits and i wanted a pup for rabbiting i wouldnt not breed them because they hadnt taken fox . . . . . .. i'd be breeding for myself and as long as no lies are told as to what the parents can do. . . . .. whats he problem. I don't understand how so many people have pups and they fail totally.     Really? Is that a real question? Use a knife sharpener, or sharpening stone. Trying to give a more in depth description is hard without being able to show you. Look on youtube maybe?

    There are loads of folk living in Afghanistan and Iraq that are not currently trying to shoot/blow up our troops or american troops. Burning the Koran gives them a reason to be angry and hate us, and will just lead to more U.K/American troops dying, and doesn't really achieve anything positive other than make those burning feel big. People who are all for it are just a bit simple minded really . . . . .
