why not? ive got a relatively small beddy whippet bitch 17tts, she hunts like a beddy but is built like a whippet, and she has caught loads of bolted rabbits on long courses upt dales, on some terrible ground and has never even knocked up a toe. i think her light weight means she gets no injuries. she is a great fun dog, the amount of times me and my pals have gone "oooohhh" and "ahhhhh" when she has grabbed hold of a bunny after a long course on limestone she is tough as old boots, and as sommeone pointed out to me, would a full whippet have the coat or skin to manage all day in the h

Saluki Men / Bringing On Pups / Summer Hares
Ideation replied to Ideation's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Some really interesting points and answers, and for the most part no slagging! A rare thing here! I asked, not as a dig, but because I don't really know that much about the world of Hare coursing, it's never really been my thing, living in places where either there are not really many hares, or its not land you can run, or simply not having a dog capable I know that it's each to their own etc etc. And I think it's a little different with the rabbits. My main questions were, does everyone do this, which i have found is a NO. And also, because of the kind of runs / land they are -
First off, this isn't a dig, it's a question. And obviously talking of pre-ban / Ireland. I hear a lot of lads saying that when bringing on their coursing pups, they tried/ try to give them a few runs over summer on easy hares etc. Every coursing man, seems to have young dogs to bring on every year for the next season. So is this common practice? Does it not go against what they preach, in terms of giving the hare fair respect? And also, can it not potentially f**k up the dog running on hard ground in the heat after sally?

Given some of the absolute muppets and general scum bags that proclaim to be hunters, it's no wonder that so many of us get bad reactions from the general public and so keep in quiet. It's like the idea that because a bunch of folk are all into running dogs, there is some kind of sacred brother hood. There are a lot of so called 'lurcher men' who I wouldnt piss on if they were on fire. We'd be in a much better state if about 60 % of those that said they 'hunted' just took up fecking knitting.

Cant really add to Paulus's post above, but can you give me an example of someone else that has been banned for having an opinion seeing how you're trying to make out its a regular occurrence? The lad has a point. Some folk can get away with pretty much anything and not get banned, being right c**ts, bullying folk etc etc. And others get pulled sharpish. Same with some threads. But that's just life i guess!

Yes, she works there part time still, and over sees the thing I think. I know the head nurse at summerhill and although I have never taken an animal there, they seem a tidy lot.

£100 a ferret. . . . . . all that would happen would be folk breeding for money. It doesnt mean they would be well bred, looked after etc.
-
In all seriousness does anyone actually meet up with groups of folk off here in a non-hunting capacity. Who they met on here? For all of the bullshit, I was at the wedding of a member on here, with Johnnyboy, and it's just funny that the three of us all met on THL.

There are about 20-30 folk on here i'd love to get together in a room, with plenty of booze and time, it'd be a good night. There are about another 20-30 folk on here i'd love to get together in a room, with tin full of anthrax.

Makes me laugh all of the folk saying 'i'd not want to hang out with all the arseholes on here in the pub'. . . . . when they spend their days sitting home a lone, talking to those same arseholes on the internet. I've met a fair few lads off here, and most have been sound.

Get some hills critical care food and mix in with water and syringe it into her.
-
I'd quite like to do anything which didn't involve people, and meant I could live in the middle of no where, well away from all the shit. And spend my days perpetually 'walking the dog'. Been looking at a very remote farm i'm very tempted about.

Beautiful as always mate.
-
Send me an address mate, and I will send over some nets for the lad. Sounds like its all more important to him than most.

Anything involving the words 'jesus' or 'jesus christ' usually makes me laugh . . . . .
-
Maybe a better way of looking at it is that if you dont work . . . . you don't have ANY excuse not to have f***ing good dogs!

Didn't we do this thread last year. . . . or was it the year before???

Free American Bull Dog Bitch
Ideation replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
Don't F**king Do That! Okay, I'm coming out in public for this bitch. I've told you my credentials. I can show you film of a dog you'll 'know' and you can judge how that one's done, after years with me. If your wife needs some sort of reassurance? I have a phone. Though, god knows what thought process counterpoints killing a dog against daring let anyone not met face to face take it in? Forgive me but, that appears to be the slant here. From our earlier 'conversations'? Bottom line is; If this dog hasn't been sorted ~ and you've just not thought to mention it ~ then I still want -
give JB a hug in the Mirror and you will see a yeti hugging a dwarf.......... You just peaked mate
-
I seen a yeti. Fact.
-
I would imagine he's just right for the right ground.

And a lot more foxes / hares get killed since the ban.
