  1. Cat products are for cats not ferrets, if you can't feed meat get a ferret kibble, ferrets have a very fast digestion so cat biscuits and cat food give them very little nutrition. I feed meat 90% of the time and always leave a bowl of dry cat biscuits for them to graze on. I've done it for years and never had any problems. Cat meat is just meat in jelly. I feed this a couple of times a week and they love it. My dogs love cat food but I wouldn't feed them it Gaz, it just goes straight through the ferrets. Ferret kibble is widely available these days so no reason to cut corners with cat kibbl

White riot - I wanna riot White riot - a riot of my own White riot - I wanna riot White riot - a riot of my own All the power's in the hands Of people rich enough to buy it While we walk the street Too chicken to even try it Everybody's doing Just what they're told to Nob
  3. Bloody brilliant lads, great watch and looked like a great days sport
  4. Finding a decent stud is like finding a decent pup, distance is irrelevant.south wales to the midlands for a stud and then the midlands to south wales to pick a pup up My mukcarra does that every week just to hunt lol the blokes who`s bitch it was travells from south wales to gloustershire to ferret  Think the worst we done was 450-500 mile round trip in a day for ferreting
  5. Talking to that lass. . . .. seems they get cases like this few times a week. . . . .. in the same city! And a lot of them are either staffs or lurchers . . . . the dog of choice for idiots. You are right mate . . . . i've killed a lot of things and some would call me a cruel man. . . .. but i couldn't for a second comprehend how anyone could do that to another living thing? It just makes your blood run cold.
  6. We use a mix of oil drums, wheelie bins and chest freezers. We also have a sealed trailer with a grain chute on it, which takes 2.5 ton. Handy sitting in the middle of the shoot.
  7. New pup came today!!!

Cocker mate, ridiculously well bred little thing. The old mans really, but a very handy tool for my job as well.

Should be mate, long road ahead! He's a cracker though, all the breeding is there, and my old man should train him up to a high standard. . . . and then i'll nick him lol.

  8. well that would be about right............waste hundreds of thousands on a dead end hunting case and turn there nose up at something because of time and money......... horribble mothers ..........your catergorised into a blood thirsty monster if you hunt.......no matter what type of hunting .........they dont see the life cycle taking the weak and keeping a healthy stock of animals....... Good news is that i think some independant charities (like the one above [ hope]) have got involved and I think she wont be put down. And yes - the RSPCA are proper c*nts we all know that. . . . .an
  9. I know the head vet nurse who is dealing with the bitch, they think she either had acid poured over her, or petrol, and then lit. Poor bitch is in a bad way, she is being treated now, but it would be a long old road, and I don't think the RSPCA are willing to pay her way, and will have her PTS. Some f***ing scum about.
  10. Glad i'm not the only one that's noticed that
  11. I'm just one of those weird folk who can't stand the heat indoors, but doesn't get bothered by the cold. I'm generally interested though, if anyone HAS found that it can make a little difference to the dog. Not in terms of its working ability, or it's drive etc. . . . . but just in terms of how its coat comes in, in winter etc? To add, I got dogs both kenneld out side and living in the house.
  12. I don't agree with the 'harder' bit. . . . but 'hardier' quite possibly. It's got to be tough going from a really warm house out into the freeing winter nights. . . . luckily i'm a cheap b*****d and don't heat my house! I have noticed theough, that dogs that have been kenneled for some of their lives and in the house for other parts, have, when growing in their winter coat, generally grown a thicker and better coat.
  13. 'Mostly' bollocks I think. Although a dog kenneled out in colder weather will have a better tolerance to the cold, and and probably a slightly thicker jacket. Although it shouldnt make that much difference when working . . . . . if the dog wants it. . . . . he won't feel the cold either way!
  14. Its like the old saying - The law locks up the man or woman Who steals the goose from off the common But leaves the greater villain loose Who steals the common from off the goose. It's really sad, and it's getting worse, I live in the sticks, and I've watched, even in the last few years, the developers creep ever closer. There are housing estates where I used to play and hunt as a kid, and everytime I see the 'land for sale' signs up . . . . it breaks my heart, because now the land is only ever bought for one thing!
  15. Why do you get the feeling that the yanks will just f**k it right up again? Bet they are wishing they hadn't brought in the whole nuke chucking thing now!
  16. Any dog that lurches can be called a lurcher regardless of breed explain ? If a dog comes up on it's quarry, and slows down slightly, and attempts to pick up it,s prey when it turns by cutting to one side, rather than overshooting,The dog has learn't how to lurch, this is the reason why coursing greyhounds dont get ran too often as they wont clock the points up unless they are forcing a hare to turn, rather than hanging back until the hare decides to turn and allows the dog a chance to cut the corner and pick the hare up side on I think you will find that the definition of a 'lurcher',
  17. It's funny because i'm dominant in niether eye (think its that way round) and so i'm far more accurate with an o/u than s/s and a lot more accurate when i close one eye. . . . . . otherwise my eyes/mind trick me into firing behind where i think im firing. Odd! ....Do your guns fit you mate? Aye, I went to see someone, who looked at how i fired etc etc, and saw that when I do it instincivly, snap shooting, I do better than when i try. Looked at the patterning etc, and found that for some reason my eyes were drawing me to think i was pointing the gun at one spot, but I was actually n
  18. I think you are getting confused between someone saying that they use the dog they happen to own for ferreting etc, and someone saying they got that dog as a ferreting dog.
