  1. lol true naz...........where else could i get free travel reports of every country in europe lol
  2. He just heard i'd come back and didn't want to miss the pearls of wisdom . . . . ain't that right stewie?!?!
  3. If that was the case surely Patt/whippets would outnumber Beddy/whippets.. The Beddy/whippet cross is a proven one, that's why it's so popular. I think it may be as much to do wth the fact that a well bred pat x whippet would probably mean a very small lurcher capable of, and with the desire to go to ground. Most folk seem to use beddy's because they are leggier often (certanly the rabbtng types). What i found odd is how many 1st x's are out there and how few working beddys.
  4. I'm not sure what to suggest . . . . .at 25 - 30 yards you pretty much point it at the thing and you hit it. You just blank out the target and fire.
  5. Aye, every time i walk past the lambing shed I justcan't help myself. . .. all those single mothers Cheers tomo, aye it's a shame, he's ok for a 'runty, weedy, pointy eared whippet' Piss off Zerky, last time wasn't my fault I'll admit the time before was
  6. Aye it's a nice spot for a wander! It's true andy, it's a lazy mans way of getting about, i've never taken the dog out with the quad, i've always assumed he'd hate it, but he seems to really enjoy racing it, so now i often take him out with me and he will follow on, and then hunt up when i stop. Not a bad arrangement. As for the shows, everytime I go to one, someone seems to want to hit me . . . . . or johnny And my whippets too ugly for rosettes. But cheers Andy The carvings are done by my bosses son, with a chainsaw. And yes malc you will
  7. It's the fore legs that are the biggest worry, you are 100% correct.
  8. Best i've found is the end of a walking or beating stick . . . . thats about it.
  9. Oh aye, brilliant mate, they do really go at it!
  10. Its funny how the police were straight round wxms door, when someone reported a photo os his kid legally holding a legally owned air rifle in a legal setting. But do nowt when there are a group of people basiclly wishing painful deaths against a minority group. They are extremists and idiots.
  11. Most released phesants won't really breed, from what I have seen, or rather when they do, they don't raise the young well, because they are shit mothers, having been hatched in an incubator themselves. We often have hens sitting nests, but as soon as one hatches, they feck off leaving the rest. But you are right with regard to wild birds. And you are also right in that too many males will lead to them hassling and driving the hens out, and fighting and even killing each other. With wild bird shoots you aim to shoot cocks not hens to protect the breeding population.
  12. Yep nonsense. Too many cocks is a problem i think. Fairly unrelated, but we had a shoot day this year where we shot the exact same number of cocks and hens, which is rare, over the season we seem to shoot way more cocks.
  13. Not to mention over heating, rock hard ground (ok not last summer) and knee high cover you can't see shit in. It's not a time for running dogs, it's a time for fishing, bbq's, and doing all the shit round the house and yard you didnt do all winter. Leave the summer hunting to the air rifle lads, they seem to really enjoy stalking and shooting kits, whilst pretending they are fighting the viet cong. I lie. . . . .. i hunt tree rats. are you a mind reader   No, just the son of god.

  15. Sat writing, with the sun coming trough the windows, listening to this.
  16. One of my favourites. . .. is . . . . "I HAD to shoot/run/trap this hare (or whatever), as the farmer is having hell with them, and if I don't continue with my serious pest control, I will lose my 20,000 acre permission" Says the man who shoots one hare (or whatever) every few weeks. . . . . . . . during summer.
  17. You get three legged dogs that can catch bunnys. It's probably not going to turn quite as well as a dog with a full tail maybe, but who cares, the poor thing deserves to have it's fun, and if the best it can manage is a bit of ferreting, and spinning over the odd bits and bobs on the lamp, and out mooching, then that's fecking fantastic, seeing where it came from. Well done to you for giving her a go mate, she may just surprise you, she certainly has some inner fire, to have come through what she did. She might just surprise you.
