  1. I'm sure we would get as many as the big game hunting or cooking sections!
  2. To be honest, looks like a lot of land we hunt, and generally rough places.
  3. ouldn't mind seeing some pics as well. I've got a seven and a half week old cocker here, from cracking bloodlines. . . . . and i've been entertaining the thought of sticking him over my hound x, in the far future. You mean putting him to the Teckel/Beagle mate?....providing he shapes up to the job....could be interesting that, might start to see a busher x busher working type appear eventually in time....looks like there's a lot of interest in this type of work these days Yer that'd be the plan. . . . it's a long long way off. The pup is my old mans dog, he's a spaniel man. I ha

  5. What, like how does the type of ground run on, affect the dogs performance, as in catch rate etc?
  6. Where can i get a load of small course fish from? Other than Polish folk?
  7. Not sure I'd go with a full sighthound/coursing type for a bushing/rabbiting lurcher I'd be looking for something a bit more able to take direction and be biddable/controllable as poss. But thats just my opinion I'm sure there'll be some out there doing the job. I'd probably agree. I'd go for something with maybe some collie blood and whippet, if you were going to 'build' the ideal bushing dog, quick acceleration, good brain, decent nose, some jacket etc.
  8. I was thinking myself the other day, we have a few decent enough ponds on the estate, with a bit of a flow through them. . . . not that deep though, and probably not enough flow for trout. Would love to chuck a few fish in them.
  9. You will be redundant soon mate, if the bitch can get out her pen, get the stinkers, and feed herself. . . . . . . . . What does she need you for . . . . . other than driving the motor???
  10. Just get a pup out of two dogs doing what you want the pup to do, to a decent standard. At the end of the day, folk on here will mostly just advise you to get what they like or what they have seen themselves. Exact x, often doesn't mean shit, unless it's a 'specialist' job you have in mind.
  11. If already decently trained. . . . . it's going to cost you!
  12. That's the problem mate, it's all over the place, in the lurcher, terrier and hound section.
  13. I have met this bitch and she has a really nice temp, seemed like a nice family type dog. Hope it gets a good home
  14. Maybe a terrier x spaniel? Or just school the terrier. But they can be miserable buggers.
  15. I have a wee hound x type thing and she is soft as shit with people. Maybe some kind of spaniel or spaniel x. . .?
  16. You will just have to wade through the rest of THL up there It'll be like blackpool illuminations next season Nice bag mate
  17. Stupid question to ask on here really
  18. Nothing gets my heart racing like a good hunt. You don't get a hunt lamping. I love the dazzler, but by god do I love that moment when the dogs pick up and switch on and the quary lifts and all hell breaks lose. Makes you feel like a kid, whooping and hollering as the dogs make chase, or standing dead quiet in awe as your charges, charge on. It doesnt even matter if you catch. It's a hunt and by god i love it.
  19. Maybe some kind of mixed breed bushing dog class. . . . that's all I can think of really. But don't know how much interest you would have?
  20. Bitch is doing ok, drugged up to the max, shaved, on a drip, and with manuka honey put on her and burn stuff. Got to be in loads of pain, but at the moment there are enough funds coming in that she won't be pts right now. She's gonna need skin grafts. Poor bitch. Anyone got any clue about where she was from or who did it? Think vin might have the right idea for a summer sport!
