Doe's Anyone Take Their Terriers Jogging?
Ideation replied to gary.l's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
yeah thanks, i was reading that so long as they don't have fcuked up(crufts)airways like pugs and boxers they should be ok. Yes mate, should be fine. Had terriers running behind the quad, and they seemed ok. -
Anybody Use A Whistle During Training?
Ideation replied to matt101's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
My lot regularly disappear out of sight. The whistle is a lot better (for a whole host of reasons) than standing in a forest shouting. Edited to add - Not sure if it was me with the two whistles, but I use different ones for different dogs. Now, they pretty much ignore both equally At least when game is afoot, however, when in the mood, they respond better to their own whistles (in theory) allowing me to call in one dog and leave the other hunting. Which has its uses at times. -

Any dog should be able to keep up with you jogging, well, they would easily keep up with me -
Are all white people child rapists and murderers? Because we have had two on the news recently.

They'll never be the same but some can go for years and only f**k up here and there. Its not a big deal to me to be honest. I think its a bullshit term that is way overused. Every single dog every born gonna do it sooner or later if you get after it. Who gives a shit. Its the ones that do it to damn quickly and you know it in your heart they aint got it cuz you've seen enough to know. A guy been in dogs a few years has no business really judging them but if you grew up around them and done a ton of hunting then you can make them decisions rather quickly as whether or not they are a keepe

That's not a whippet. Look at the tail!

I'm sure someone put a post on here about 'animal friends' and found they were closely linked with the RSPCA, and they , the OP, cancelled their insurance! Yes, a percentage of your money goes to the RSPCA.

hares breed all year round !:/ But anyone who tries to suggest that they do not have a period of the year where they are waaaaay more likely to do so (not to mention successfully rear the young) does not know much about the country side! know much about the countryside , well it's a fact they breed all year round I said nothing about successful rearing, so coursing in the winter you still can kill a doe in young ! So don't try to educate me in the countryside ! That was not being debated. But killing a doe in young in winter is unlikely to make as much difference to the population as

From what I have seen, a half x collie/grey or similar type, put back to a good whippet, seems to throw nice pups. I think the collie/whippet 1st x breeding would be very hit or miss, I would imagine you could get some very handy dogs out of it, or at least a handy base for a line maybe? But also you could end up with a small collie Being honest there are enough small lurcher lines out there, I would probably go that way. If you were thinking collie x, look about for a smallish line of collie blooded dogs, like the collie/grey/whippets. Could quite happily be looking at 21/22 " dogs, that wou

And therein lies the problem...I was young once...and now I ain't anymore...and it's far too late for me to get on the ole high horse who goes by the name sanctimony...hopefully he'll learn...and you'll be able to rest assured that the hares down your way get to enjoy their summer break...happy days... It's just sad that those young lads were not brought into the game by folk who educated them properly. The way I was brought into hunting, I knew what was 'right' and 'wrong' (in terms of sportsmanship etc) pretty much from the word go.

Everyone always talks about beddy x whippets. Be nice to see some more collie x whippets? Have you thought about a pure whippet? Mine does pretty well at ferreting

Me neither...Baby On Board... And...so f*****g what... Racehorses/Greyhounds in transit... And...who gives a f**k and why do I need to know what your carrying... Next thing it'll be a long black motor with "Dead b*****d on Board... See those baby on board stickers confuse me. What do folk think? I was going to plough them off the road and then noticed they were carrying a bairn, so I didn't

Well done pal! It's onwards and upwards from here! Glad the bitch is making you happy and that she has a decent home now She isn't a lurcher lads, he rescued her, she is more a mastiff type cur. But he wants to get her hunting to give her something to do etc,

Go look at the thread i started a while ago called summer hares / bringing on pups or something like that, it'll answer your questions.

Paulus. . . . . .why not just answer the mans fecking question?

Got to catch it first! Also true. But I don't think in this case it was the catching that was in question
