Looks like a mortar or bomb fuse. Personally I would not muck about with stuff like that, I don't know how much charge it can have in it but it's not worth taking the risk. Phone the cops let them know what you have found. If it is inert they will give it back to you to keep.

Stupidest thing about the cull was to have it in fairly small 'pilot' areas, it was set up to fail. They should be put on the general license in all areas that are badly affected. They're never going to get completely wiped out.

I shot 3 partridge and 7 pheasants for 29 shots but brought home three brace of partridge and two brace of pheasant. Seems like no one else wanted them and I'm never going to turn them down. Turns out me and my mate shot nearly two thirds of the bag out of 12 guns from what we can figure out lol. Last drive was insane, I was the walking gun so expected bugger all, maybe the odd one or two and I must have had 20+ birds put over me, couldn't load fast enough. Got the Delia Smith's O...

In your case it wouldn't hurt to be a member of a shooting association as some of them will give out good firearms advice. P.S you held your license for x years and were completely safe and responsible, you responsibly gave the guns up while you sought help for feeling down, you got over the illness and now you want to resume your hobby. You sound pretty responsible, not the next derik bird. Good luck

Also worth checking the actual plug socket is still working by plugging something else in to it. If the plug, fuse and socket are ok (you can test the cable in something else) then I recon your power supply has packed in, the cheap ones you get in most PCs are crap and die frequenty. It's an easy thing to replace but if you don't want to do it yourself pop in to a computer shop and get them to do it. Shouldn't cost much.

My wife's Aunt was killed recently by kids racing, they smashed in to her car at high speed while she was driving home one evening. She was in her 70s Like you say it's a moment of madness but in this case it wasn't them that suffered it was a lovely old lady.

Smell of what, to replicate hunting what......? Humans / you... . Your own sent will do at first building to game its simple gun-dogs use there amazing senting abilty to find not sight. The colour is for us thick humans !!!! Dogs colour spectrum is crap, they see shades of a few colours so GTE is totaly right. They will hunt the smell. You can buy scent of rabbit etc and play games with them doing up and down wind retrieves etc, or even drag the thing through long grass leaving a trail. -

It was too much too soon, Ollie is very quick to build associations, and when he doesn't understand what is going on they become negative associations. Basically the people who asked us to come were saying we can do as much or as little as we like but tbh they're very short on dogs and I felt a bit under pressure which no doubt was passed on to the dog. I took him beating twice, I now need to go back a few steps and 'deconstruct' the events of the day clackers/guns individually and desensitize him to those things. I hope they have because then they can read this................that leather belt, the leather shoes that your wearing, the gelatine in your yoghurt, the chicken for dinner, you do not have a clue how the animal your eating or the part your wearing, lived. Are you self employed? There has been a few articles about this in shooting times etc. Basically if you are paying tax to work your dog or beat you should be able to claim tax relief for the equipment/food/clothing. Spend some time googling this, if I get a chance I'll try to find the articles.
