Bad Advice In An Airgun Magazine?
gurtwurz replied to secretagentmole's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Erm, I have a pair of Aigle Parcours wellies, which have Realtree print on them, seriously, I have Realtree wellies. The only reason I bough them was because they fit me (only pair that size in the auction). Had them for over 2 years now, still hardly any wear on the soles, nice and comfy, but still with Realtree! why am i not at all surprised... -
Bad Advice In An Airgun Magazine?
gurtwurz replied to secretagentmole's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Can't disagree there! I've banged on about the mags solely existing to sell the terminally unwary crap they don't need at prices they can't afford... I mean really, rabbit attracting sprays? glowing reviews of the mk1 r10? Real tree gear? (does anybody outside of hft really use it?) -

What about the humble bsa meteor? Loads of us cut our teeth with the old fairground special, and as its got open sights as standard, you wouldn't have to put a scope on straight away?

Happy birthday fella!

Nice 1 skot... Although, I had some of those butler creek ones, the one with the red button broke within a month. The ones that come with ramsbottom scopes are really good, if theyre the same ones as the covers they sell seperately, they'd be well worth a squint at

Miles Johannesburg's Fantasy Life And Lies Exposed
gurtwurz replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Yeah,i ready feel for poor phil, showing the guy nothing but friendship and being shown sod all in return. I don't think that he's binned you for 'siding with his enemys', rather that youre a living reminder of his arrogance and bull headed stupidity catching up with him and kicking him in the arse. With you out of the picture, he can pretend none of it happened and continue the quest to become the next online guru of shooting and alternative lifestyles. Phil, you come across on here as a really good hearted fella mate, and your honesty does you credit. -

Lifes a funny old thing, when he first came on here he seemed quite a humble, thoughtful guy, but as time went on and his popularity increased (across the web, not just here) he started getting a bit arrogant and full of his self. Then he started filming, used a comedy vid as an attack on si and davy and started intellectually bullying people whenever he was challenged, which I didn't think too much of, but since others stated what I was thinking,i kept schtumm, particularly as this section was all too full of slagging at the time. I think we're better off without him these days for sure. -
Pellet Pouches?
gurtwurz replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
i use a small nylon first aid kit pouch that i bought from poundland. zips up, keeps your pellets clean in one place and doesnt rattle, fits any pocket a treat too. -
Did you beat si today davy? Nice one VM, new gun and ground on which to get to know it-proper job mate

I use a light stream 4.5-15x44ffp on my hybrid and its great, although like the menace the reticle is very fine at 4.5. Brilliant for squirrels though as its crystal clear so excellent at low light. True mil dot at all magnification, no having to think about aim points at different mags, theres not much to dislike but they are well expensive. If hawkes sr12 reticle was available on one it'd be the perfect air rifle scope I reckon.

A Big Thank You To Davyt63

He did that so you'd be in no fit shape for the comp si mate, I reckon you must have had your scope locked up securely so he gassed you instead lol -
Sorry, that was if anybody needs help. B#$tard phone

I've never tried a file on knives, I'm old fashioned and use a stone, used to use an oil stone now I use a japanese water stone, medium on one side and fine on the other. As long as you make sure you do each side of the knife the same amount of strokes eventually you'll get it nice and sharp. Scandi grinds are about the easiest to sharpen since you pretty much just need to hold the cutting edge flat to the stone. If anybody help sharpening a knife then give me a shout at the meet, I can usually save a knife but guarantee nowt...

A Big Thank You To Davyt63
gurtwurz replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Top lad davy, full stop. Except at 5.30 am when the drunken bum smashes into your tent with a 'come hither big boy' look about him, thats just scary lol -
Each to his own, but for me you can't beat a springer,a self contained rifle where all you need for a great day out is as many pellets as you can shoot and enough tea to be going on with. I've had a few pcp's but I find springers a real pleasure to shoot.
