  1. No need for rudeness at all there, seems like some people just want to being others down these days :-(
  2. That is a lovely bit of wood in that stock.
  3. For what its worth phil, I use boiled linseed oil on my pro sport, or did til i ran out, now I use walnut cooking oil from tesco.(£1.50!)
  4. Its always great to see lads from here meeting up and having the crack, and some good shooting to boot, nice one fellas. He's a good lad is our darryl, one of the forums true sporting gentlemen. Cheers, wurz
  5. Result! Let us know how you get on with them craig mate
  6. Thought I had already commented on this, sorry darryl. I think this is an excellent how to vid, and after my afternoon apprenticeship in the man cave, has me thinking happily about the pro sports upcoming service and fettle. There was a bit I wasnt sure about concerning the under lever that you're cleared up a treat, so thanks for that mate, your a star. Cheers, wurz

  8. thats about right phil, my philosophy is that once youre in the shit, it makes no odds whether youre knee deep or neck deep, youre still in the shit lol
  9. good ,informative and easy to follow davy, almost like being in the mancave with you mate although at least when watching the video i dont have to survive your stinky arse gas cheers, wurz
  10. The odd bottle of scotch doesn't go amiss with most of them either, or in my landowners case, my home made prize winning sloe gin, cherry brandy or rice whiskey...
  11. i'd spend the extra on a 95 to be honest, webley just aint what they used to be, and neither are bsa for that matter. if you want to stay at the budget end of things i've heard surprisingly good things about the stoeger x20 and the hatsans, as long as you keep your ranges this side of 35yds you should be fine with them. i'd go for the hw however cos if it is a gun you intend to keep then you know that it'll be accurate well out to long range and the build quality SHOULD be loads better, although to be honest i'd say a 20 yr old hw will outshoot a new one all day long, just cos they were s
  12. Probably best to ask in the shotgun section craig mate?
  13. Normally I'd say go for the hw, but chas (light hunter) uses a s510 to great effect in hft so as usual youre best off going down the gun shop and seeing which fits you best. Both are very accurate well built and well balanced rifles, although I definitely say the hw magazine system is much better than the air arms.
  14. Nice photo deano. If you'd had your gun you wouldn't have seen a thing anyway mate, you know how it goes!
  15. Initially when shooting a spring rifle I find it best to stay shooting in one position til I've got used to the firing cycle as changing from standing to kneeling to prone will mean that your head and leading hand position are slightly different, thus changing the recoil cycle and therefore the point of impact of the pellet. Spring rifle shooting is an art, and takes a while to begin to master, but stick with it, as its the most rewarding kind of shooting there is. Eventually lol...
  16. Andys right, the best way to test the trggier is to take a screwdriver out with you when you go shooting and adjust it as you go, so its in real world conditions. I usually go by 1/4 turns on the adjustment screw until its bang on, then maybe take it back a 1/4 because if its too light the sears can slip and go off when you pop the safety off.
  17. not necessarily in a spring rifle tony mate, my loved accupell before we detuned the power, since then its been a steady diet of air arms/jsb. if the new spring is gonna be running at a different power then its wise to do all the pellet testing again cos the results can be quite different. personally dorsetchap, i use the above but most hw's i've used seem to like either h&n ftt's or accupell /crossman premier/daystate li. i wouldnt entertain any kind of pellet other than dome headed ones for hunting as theyre generally the most accurate, all the stuff you read in the comics about hig
  18. If you haven't already, check out geordie hunters as theyre starting to turn out some decent vids, you'll just have to get a translator to understand them. I think hunters vermin are another and countryside pursuits have a wide variety of airgunning on them. Cheers, wurz
  19. SFS continually sounds like one of those shops I'm gonna have to pop in to sometime, and not just because of the free food. I've had dealings with mr.wall in the past and I was more than delighted with the outcome. Hope your rifle brings you many years of shooting pleasure mate, Cheers, wurz
  20. I think thats a brilliant picture darryl mate, and it was a cracking wedding, lovely ceremony, short speeches, top rate nosh and a bloody good crowd to enjoy it with. Top work!
  21. The best ' out the box' rifle on the market in terms of performance and looks, full stop. And yours is a particularly fine example bigmac, lovely grain mate.
  22. What does barrel lapping entail lupo? Sounds like some kind of deviant sexual practice lol
  23. Nice work andy. Its good to see the sfs gear is still bang on. I know the spring and guide you fitted in mine was top notch, and a decent price too. Skot, you should never go in dry mate, it'll only wear faster lol
  24. Or leave it as it is, and you've a top quality, accurate as hell all weather gun that you can shoot in any conditions and cos it was a freebie it won't break your heart! Maybe thats why no one gives me rifles lol
