Now then, Wurz. I'm using the Loguns at the moment and they're a cracking pellet considering the dodgy geezer I got them from!! lol I can't use them here though, so I'm needing some tin pellets, I guess. I think H and N do a version of the FTTs in tin but I can't seem to find any. How's the 4Q doing? Give it a hug from me!! i thought they were non lead mate, sorry! 4Q's still cracking, doing a very nice line in bunny somersaults at the mo..

Hi lads, as some of you may know, webster had a bit of a windfall with a tx recently but didn't get on with it so he offered it on here at a very decent price, which I decided to snap up. Well, it arrived here this morning, in much better nick than he'd stated it was in, with a richter optics scope and a gunbag to boot (i wasn't expecting that mate!) Took it into the back garden and it's smooth as you like and deadly accurate (well, at 15yds it is) so I'm off up to the club with it now to give it a proper go. Thanks webster, you've been a gent to deal with, and the rifle is a lot bette

Restoring A Rather Negelcted Hw80
gurtwurz replied to thursodog's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Awesome work mate, a really cracking job there and an interesting, informative post too. Thanks for bunging up the close up shots of the work progress too, as they really help the uninformed see exactly what youre talking about. As to 80's with 98 barrels, imagine all the smoothness and accuracy of the standard barrels with none of the muzzle flip, oh yeah... Cheers again,i really enjoy your posts. -
Seriously well done fella, you have some real skills there mate. And I thought I was clever cos I changed a barrel lol

Phil mate, the gun may be great but it's still down to you pointing it in the right place at the end of the day! Great shooting buddy :-)

Sports match mate, good mounts are smart money well spent. When you've spent all that cash on scope and rifle why skimp on an equally important link in the chain?

Where Do You Buy Your Pellets
gurtwurz replied to Kent_keith's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Local gunshop does me aa fields for a tenner a tin in .22, and like kyle said, it's important to keep your local shops in business-you can't try before you buy online! -

Hi SiJust had a look at Hull cartridge web site they do HW80 and HW80 k If youre after a 98 barrel to go with it hull cartridge do them for about £100 mate. The difference they make to an is astounding, with no muzzle flip to speak of you can get some mental accuracy. If you bought an old for £150 and tune it yourself you'd have a world class rifle for less than the price of a new one meaning you could shell out for a custom stock and still have change from 500 notes. The only problem I could see would be that with a standard stock it would' ve been a tad front heavy but if you can live

I had an original map 6 scope and hated it, I found it too cluttered to be able to really see what I was shooting at. The hawke half mil dot is excellent however, very clear and easy to use by comparison.

HW97k vs TX200 (Full Length) MK3 Review
gurtwurz replied to milegajo's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
You'll need to tune a 97 to get the best out of it mate, a stage 1 tune'll cost up to 70, and a stage 2 around 150 so factor that into your budget. Cheers, wurz -

And the more you practise the luckier you get, as they say! Glad you all had a good time lads, old downs is a tricky course. Cheers, wurz -
Try westons in brighton, theyre good. I'm down the road from you in shoreham so if you want I can meet up with you beforehand, they might do you a better deal? Theres a very good local club near you too at mile oak.

Thanks a lot for your reply, It had definitely shed some new light on the subject. I think I am leaning slightly more towards the TX200 than the 95K. I do want to try them both as you said to see which I prefer, but there are only two air rifle stockists within an hours drive that I know of here in Henfield (niether of which have a range or stock the TX200). I am considering making the journey to Ronnie Sunshines to get a clear feel for each of the guns. Thanks again, it's nice to read a comparison of both pros and cons of each gun. Appreciated Is that henfield in sussex?

Hi mate, welcome to THL. Sounds like you've done your research so thats a good start. Of the two, personally I'd go for the tx over the 95 for a couple of reasons, one of these being that weihrauch's quality control is slipping a bit and theyre not what they used to be, unless theyre tuned in which case add another £50-70 to the asking price. Theyre still solid enough around the barrel latch though so accuracy is unlikely to be affected. The other reason I'd have a tx is because I find the 95 way too light, it does tend to bounce around a bit more than I'd like. I'm not a big bloke at all mind

youm did the right thing phil- them 97's are girls guns... *ducks behind parapet and awaits incoming flak*

the only problem i can see with a walnut stock would be to make the rifle a tad front heavy, maybe it would be worth looking into a hardwood instead. more to come on that as it goes, but not just yet.. as to reduced recoil and muzzle flip, i can tell you lads now that mine has next to sod all of either. this is definitely a great combination for all aspects of shooting and i'm quite surprised it hadnt been tried before to be honest. the only problem i can think of is that its quite loud, but apart from that its on a par with my pro sport for accuracy( in fact i think it shades past the pr
