  1. Looks great, beautiful views! Whens the house warming party?
  2. Some true comments in there but alledgedly not by Bill Cosby "There's an email floating around - entitled "I'm 76 and tired" - purportedly sent by me. I did not write the email, I did not send the email, I'm not 76, and I don't subscribe to the ugly views expressed in the email. We are coming up to an important anniversary on Sunday, which is a day when we should all come together. Whoever wrote this email is not thinking about our country, or what is important. If you get the email, it's time to hit DELETE."Posted by Bill Cosby on September 9, 2011 at 11:17 AM
  3. If I were in your position I would go for a .22 rim fire for rabbis etc and a .222 for fox and leave the HMR, I have a , .22 rf , .17 HMR and a .223, the HMR is the one I would do without of the three rifles ATB Seeker
  4. Yep + 1 for the 6.5 x 55 swede that was my choice, but out of the two you mentioned I would go for the .308 The prob with the .243 as i have read is bullet penetration, of course it's enough to take Sika or reds but unlike the larger deer calibres it is less likely to fully penetrate and therefore in the case of a runner will be harder to track due to lack of blood trail.
  5. In Scotland Under the Hares Act 1848 and Hares (Scotland) Act 1848 it is an offence for 'anyone to use any firearm or gun of any description at night for the purpose of killing game'. In England no, hare coursing with dogs is illegal but not lamping with rifle, that's the reason shooters don't get stung its perfectly legal...
  6. IMO By far the best sounding acoustic in the low budget price band is Yamaha they are very good, excellent neck also
  7. Disgusting behaviour I've witnessed similar things whilst fowling, some "modern pretend" fowlers have not had any proper introduction to the sport, don't understand the limitations of their equipment or indeed what they are looking for. Quarry identification is another thing, blasting away at anything that flies past within 100 yards. When you have witnessed (as a couple of mates did) a rotating pigeon magnet spinning round with a floating type mallard decoy taped to each arm set on a flash you can only shake your head in disbelief. Dumfries & Galloway have the right idea, a few of us go
  8. like to use the . swift myself Swift is an awesome fox tool, as is my .243 with my 60 grn hollow points @ 3670 fps,the point I was making is that a hornet which is the next rung on the ladder from hmr is so much better,35-50 grn bullet 800 ftlbs as a posed to 230ftlbs, I WILL REITERATE, the piddly little hmr is not really suitable as a fox tool, if you really must shoot them with a rimmy .22 wmr in semi auto is a better round by a long way. Agreed the HMR is not permitted for fox in my area and IMO rightly so, if it's close enough then yes it will do the job but there are far better
  9. Hi any one got a .223 moderator in M14 x 1 thread for sale? Cheers Seeker
  10. Of course,if your living in commuter belt Oxshott or Chalfont st Giles your insulated and isolated from the problem and going to have a totally different take on immigration than if your a caucasian brit living in front-line Southall or Leicester or Bradford. Yes but to say the politicians are u aware is un true they are well aware of the situation but it's political suicide for any one of hem to stand up and tell it exactly how it is. I heard Keith Vaz braying on about how this govt is not controlling the borders FFS that's fresh from labour it was their failure that's got us in this s
  11. If you watch UK Border Force I don't blame the guys doing the work when they do catch the it's when the solicitors who the get involved, to me they should be caught establish which country they are from and then deported within 72 hrs. Same as immigration at airports they are refused entry and told to return the next day to get a flight back home and the narrator says at the end of the program "Mr XXXXX failed to return the next day" doh. They claim asylum as soon as caught and then enter the legal system for the next 5 years.

The thing is even if they announce a cull it will probably be under licence and heavily monitored. I bet these licences will be like hens teeth to obtain as well. A recent pole reveled 63% of people are against a cull. Too many people watching spring watch and that nob Bill Oddie for my liking. They have little understanding of the countryside and worse still care even less.
  13. Yes that would be a good idea to incriminate yourself on an open forum.......
  14. Real life "Angry Birds" It's a good job it wasn't an exploding black one lol
  15. I reckon you may have to go another couple of years with a clean sheet but as been said its down to your local police fire arms officer. He's got to make a judgement call, the question he needs to satisfy himself with is are you a fit and reasonable person to be trusted with a fire arm? Let us know how you get on Atb
  16. have you listened to yourself? you sound like an anti wanting another mans sport to get banned as a knee jerk to some crazed gun touting maniac the majority of people who have guns are law abiding sensible folks it only takes a bad apple here and there to spoil the barrell. some of us like to shoot and hunt with dogs why does it always have to be one or the other you can do both Well said toby, some posts on here are absurd.

  22. Hunting deer with a bow must be the closest thing to ancestral hunting you can get, I would imagine there is a high level of skill required to do this, I wonder also if we Brits have lost some of those skills over the years that our hunters used to posses or are they still used but adapted to different methods hmmm?
