LT handed shoot RT handed semi ?.
The Seeker replied to PLEDGEY's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Have fired a right handed semi auto and I'm left handed, although the spent cartridge ejects across your field of view it's fast enough not to cause too much of a problem if you can ignore it. I found the worst thing was in very low light as you do get a small flash discharge when it ejects. For that reason and the fact I wanted a wildfowling gun I bought a Benelli Super Black Eagle made in left handed version ATB -

Had a SWB Pajero for 9 months now it's the 2.5 version and it's a great work horse, the only problem I've had is the water pump packed in cost me £270.00 to get it renewed. Other than that it's a bit slow but then again it's going to be when compared to a modern daily saloon car. To be honest I would have another in a heart beat if I got rid as its a cracking shooting/dog wagon.

Shooting dogs worrying sheep
The Seeker replied to halloween man's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
My neighbours dogs have been aggressive towards my sheep on several occasions, and I have caught the neighbour encouraging the dogs onto my land - ongoing neighbourhood dispute over a right of way. I wrote to them a registered letter stating that IF their dogs were found in my sheep field I would shoot them. ( Shotgun cert only ) This was after checking with my local FAO who said I should warn them of the risks their dogs had of being shot. For revenge they did just what you stated: They called 999 and said I had shot at them from my house when they were crossing my field. Helicopters, arm -

According to a recent BASC magazine, fox falls under the LEGAL definition of vermin. It would therefore be unlikely any prosecution would succeed. The other thing to consider is that a firearm certificate doesn't stipulate that the fox, CANNOT be shot with a hmr, or .22. No it doesn't but it also doesn't say you can't shoot wild boar with it either, yes I know this is an exaggeration but I don't think that could be used as a defence, I was told clearly by my FAO SY Police do not allow the use of rimmy on fox... Just shows how there is a lack of standardisation, .222 and up for

Ahem....Gents back to the topic in hand, I accept some use the HMR for fox but let's not forget one important issue many Police Firearms depts will not issue fox on .22 or HMR as they don't consider is suitable. SO reaching into my cabinet for a night foxing I would go for the .223 not only because I think it is a better calibre for the job but to take a rim fire would be illegal in South Yorkshire. Don't you just love a standard approach? Which got me thinking if a guy from Derbyshire has fox on his rimmy and shoots foxes in South Yorkshire (just over the border for those not blessed wit

Yep that's the story.

Just read a 2 page spread in the daily mail (page 28) on five guys jailed last month for badger baiting. The piece is obviously biased towards anti hunting but if this story is to be believed its no wonder LAC's etc drum up the support they do, "pregnant badgers with featus ripped out and laid on the grass" , and "ripped fur and flesh with each bite" the general public will not only reject reversing the ban on hunting but I can see tighter restrictions. All this caught on camera by a couple of guys out filming wildlife who stumbled across these guys, not good....

Ruger 22/10 possible problem
The Seeker replied to Simonrees's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I changed my standard stock with the band and fitted a hogue stock, this doesn't have a band and it's still accurate. Daft question but have you checked to make sure the mod isn't loose? I had the same problem and the mod was half a turn loose and set the aiming all over the place. -
Only 100 yards? Never mind the SA80 Ive heard after reading some posts about the HMR the army are looking at replacing the 50cal barrett

nothing serious just a poll to see what your opinions are
The Seeker replied to wag's topic in Wildfowling
I will say it again not one fellow sportsman I have read in this debate has criticised the wonderful sport of inland duck and goose flighting most have either done it or do it alongside wildfowling on the foreshore. It may sound petty to some but to a young lad starting out reading these posts wanting to learn wildfowling I feel it's important they understand the difference between the two. With wildfowling you are lucky to get a shot never mind a goose or a duck but when you do succeed it's very satisfying to be rewarded for the hard work put in, many a time I've driven a long way to the -
Well she is correct on the first point, and wrong on the second,I shot a dog fox the other night and it was huge, deffo some big uns about this year thats for sure. So 240 odd fpe to the cranium isn't enough to do the job on a fox? Curious. i must admit some of the dedicated fox lads do get 223 blind but you head shoot anything with the hmr its going down I dare say you shoot a fox close enough and in the right place with an air rifle and it would go down but it's not the correct tool for the job, yes the HMR will kill foxes as will the .22 rimmy but they have a risk of wounding

In my opinion the reason we are still there is until the Afghan Police and army have not only the man power trained but the democratic political infrastructure in place we will need troops there. Some on here have questioned why we are still there now Bin Laden is gone, it's because if we all pulled out a civil war would ensue the Taliban would take control and send the country back to the middle ages where women are stoned to death for rumours of adultery, schools and education is almost outlawed and it would be a safe haven for any Islamic terror group out there to launch attacks on the
