  1. You're talking as if a trained spar is going to muller every Blackbird in the vicinity, this won't happen with the advantage virtually always with the fitter wild quarry, a Trained spar will never be as fit as the quarry you're flying even if you fly it everyday. you would be surprised how they struggle with Blackbirds in fair flight straight off the fist, there's always a very high percentage chance the quarry will make its escape knowing the terrain better than the trained hawk. People shoot and Hunt quarry everyday not always for the pot, Pheasants get shot for sport with a vast majorit
  2. I stopped buying the news of the world when they ran the front cover story about our soldiers in Iraq supposedly abusing prisoners which turned out to be totally fake, I never have and never will buy that pile of shite again
  3. agreed Totally agree.....in the main,a bird likes a bloke to be a bloke and a bloke likes a bird to be a bird.....theres nothing manly about earrings and nothing feminine about tattoos, simple.Or maybe im just prehistoric + 1
  4. I'm off to the states in a few weeks and fancy having a look for a nice Zeiss scope. What I'm not sure about is can I stick one or two in my case and bring them home? I ask because if you try to order anything to do with a rifle from Cabelas or BassPro shop they have a notice saying they are no longer to export rifle parts outside the USA. This I think wa following 9/11 So will I get stopped by a huge airport security guard snapping on a rubber glove....or is it OK to take these home with you?

If it's for short term use the cheapest way (if you have one) is to use a camcorder positioned in the window on long record setting will get you hours of recording and it won't cost you a bean. If you want something more permanent I agree Maplins do a 4 camera kit with a DVR which you can view via an iPhone etc. Remember as with all these viewing remote CCTV systems they never tell you that you need a fixed ip address which you will need to pay for but that's only if you want to view images from your phone. A cheaper alternative is to get a camera that plugs directly into your tv and y
  6. you can apply for a liscence to take them whats wrong with that very hard to catch but great flights all legit Got to agree I just don't know why you'd want to hunt blackbirds Now if your talking a nice partridge then I can totally see where your at, IMO it's either got to end up on my plate surrounded by vegetables or be vermin

  9. Had read up on this round but wikepedia site says very harsh on barrel wear, barrel replacement required after 500-1000 rounds is that true? It's a mine field this topic absolutely everyone I speak to has a different opinion on what calibre is the best. I kinda settled on the Swede but then found out Browning X Bolt not made in this calibre. May have to go for the Tikka T3. Thanks for all the comments lads much appreciated
  10. I have a pocket in my gun slip which I leave in the car ,if I need them I can get to them without fear of them getting ruined by bad weather or worse still losing them. Though in 10 years I've never been challenged yet.
  11. The answer to your question is up to what calibre is the land passed for? If it isn't you will need to get the land passed by the Police. I wouldn't use .22rf for fox unless is was close range (40 yards) .223 is the best choice of the two but have you also considered a .22 hornet? My mate has one and it's a superb foxing tool

A Somalian arrives in Streatham as a new immigrant to the UK .  He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says........  'Thank you Mr. British for letting me in this country, giving me housing, money for food, free medical care, free education and no taxes!'  The passer by says, 'You are mistaken, I am Mexican!'  The man goes on and encounters another passer by. 'Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in the UK !'  The person says, 'I not British, I Polish!'  The new arrival walks further, and the next pe

  16. South Yorkshire Police do not permit .17HMR (or .22rf) for fox so I can't comment on it's performance although the FEO was adamant they consider it not a large enough calibre for fox. Like anything if you hit it in the right place most rifles will send the fox tumbling but I find it interesting what Andyf says "none dropped to shot and needed shooting twice" so maybe SY FEO has a point....
  17. If you had the choice over these two which one would you go for, I'm un-decided. Also anyone have one of these with fox granted? (not fox whilst stalking) Cheers Seeker
  18. Went round to a mates house last night to see their new born baby, his wife asked me if I'd like to have a go at winding it, I thought it was a bit harsh so I gave it a dead leg instead My f*****g neighbour knocked at my door at 2.30 this morning. Can you believe that!? 2.30am! Luckily for him I was still up playing my guitar full volume thru a Marshall stack at the time. Found a DVD entitled "Bald and barely legal" chuffed with my find I put the disc in the player and sat there ready to bash one out, imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be a Department of T
