  2. Seen this before the guy is a smart arse prick, "I've been advised by my lawyer not to say anything" so if I'd gne through a red light and knocked this tw@t off his push bike Would be be so indignant. "I'm a student of the law" no mate your a tosser. 3. Bang on as I have stated before on here .22rf and HMR is not permissible for fox in South Yorkshire
  4. Only advice i can give is don't just blow air through it like a Christmas kazoo. It's difficult to explain but it needs to be guttural, blow the air from your stomach and say the phrase "toooooowit". This should give you a basic call. Keep practicing it takes time but you will get there, also have you looked on YouTube? For example Seeker
  5. Thanks for the positive comments Wag Jay No worries, it's nice to look at a thread and see someone has taken the time to do a nice write up and ad photo's of there trips wildfowling ... than some just plonking a photo on and just say shot these today and that's all they say , i like to here and read about other fowlers out and about, also takin the time to show the young ones how to go on after all they are our future and without them i feel wildfowling will be a thing of the past .... .... regards wag +1
  6. If going into a pub ask to speak to the manager explain what you have in your gun slip and do they have any objections to you bringing it into the pub, explain it will be kept in the slip throughout i have never had a problemwith it. As for McDonalds I can't comment I only buy coffee and that's through the drive in.
  7. This morning (8.30) there was nothing on the lakes, ( a couple of teal that I managed to scare away). Then, lots of "honking" and two canada geese came in, they were out of range to start with then landed on the top lake, I crawled through the shite and still managed to spook them ! 1) should I have waited for them to return ? (Teal and Canada's) Not nessacarily, but if it is quite marshy with a few ponds there will most likely be passing traffic, invest in half a dozen decoys get them set out and buy (and learn to use) a call and you should get the ducks dropping in. Better still if
  8. 3 to 4 times a year I'm afriad is nowhere near enough if you want to improve your shooting. If you can't make it more than this then sorry to hear it, but if your serious about improvement then there is nothing better than getting lead in the air.

  12. No mate your not talking bollocks but it doesn't matter if the bullet was fired vertically into the air or dropped by hand from the top of the Eiffel tower the bullet will reach terminal velocity and will not be able to exceed this, an earlier post suggested this would be 108mph when it hits the ground. The only way this speed can increase is to reduce drag i.e when a sky diver is falling to earth his terminal velocity is around 130mph if he pulls his arms in like a dart this will increase significantly but he will still reach a terminal velocity in this position, in other words he will not
  13. I got the varmint heavy barrel for both my HMR and 6.5x55, why? because they were the right price when I bought them. Some people complain about them being too heavy to carry round a field all day but I've never found it a problem (maybe they should eat more weatabix) The main advantage from a centre fire is you get get more rounds through the rifle before it gets too hot, but this isn't too much of a problem with the HMR, so it all depends on your circumstances really.
  14. If it was a 160 grain bullet that converts to 8.92 ft lbs, I bet it would sting a bit though.....
  15. Not good practice, the first thing anyone should ask before they pull th trigger on a rimfire or centre fire is where will the bullet go should I hit or indeed miss the animal, we should never shoot without an adequate back stop. It's questionable I suppose if you are taking a shot with the trunk directly behind it wether that could be deemed a back stop but mistakes could too easily be made. I wouldn't risk it with anything other than an air rifle.
  16. really talented, thanks for the link
