English Bull And Their Crosses Thread.
AKA-BRINDLE replied to Lenmcharristar's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
The truth is in the pudding???? no no no the phrase is...the proof of the pudding is in the eating(you dont know how good something is until you try it)...but most would agree that the EBTshow dog is a pretty shit tasting pudding -
Would have preferd to of seen Ward-v-Golovkin and Kovalev-v-Stevenson a shame those matches couldnt be made...watching Ward up at Light Heavy against Barrera and Brand i dont think he will have the power at LH to stop Kovalev...my way of thinking is if Barrera can land then Kovalev will stop him...whatever it should be a good fight and fair play to both fighters for making it happen

Who? You know miles...miles of fun

Cheers for that darbo...be watching that when i get a spare hour Tapia lived one crazy life for sure...theres an old one on there about Randolph Turpin...another one with a sad ending...but interesting how he won and lost a fortune...one of the forgotten British greats...probably our best p4p ...still not sussed how to put a link in

Only really felt the bite of the recession(if you could call it that) from 2009-2011...kept working but not a lot around and money dropped...money+prices still not really got back to pre 2008 levels in my area...didnt affect me dogs one bit...but from what i can see it did have an impact on the kinda dogs i was into as far as the internet goes...back before 2008 these forums seemed full of breeders selling dogs...flybynightchancers talking about breeding their own lines...adding a kennel affix to their backyard scatter bred mutts and filling their own little web pages with pictures of famous l

Whyte seems to have lost some of his aggression and power since the loss/injury...or maybe he just wernt as good as i thought he was? Nurse-v-Coyle best fight on the card imo
-
Cracking fight and brilliant result for Frampton...must admit i had Santa Cruz on points...had it even at the end of the 10th with Santa Cruz shading the last 2 rounds...he just looked busier to me landing more...but carl was landing the quality shots and thats obviously what the judges saw...but cracking fight...re-match in Belfast next year??
-
Frampton fight starts about 3am i think?...there will be loads of Irish support for Carl in NYC should make on hell of an atmosphere...really looking forward to it getting up to watch it live...also interested in the Whyte-v-Allen fight...think Whyte will blow him away within 6...Allen looked poor against Gavern imo hes talked himself into this fight...the winner if im right in thinking takes on Sam Sexton for a shot at the British title...Sexton looking in great shape right now problems behind him looking focused...Hari Miles said Sexton couldnt knock out a wank...then Sam knocked him out beg
-
Should be a good tough scrap this...think it will go the distance personally...Cruz on points...Frampton has nothing to lose...would be great if he can pull it off...Frampton much underrated imo

The chap with the tache on the left when they get the badger out the boxe looks like he's had a livener or two before he turned up...surprised to see so many turn out to watch rabbits running around a field on a sunday morning

Terence Crawford-v-Viktor Postol for the WBO&WBC titles tonight/tomorrow morning...both 28-0...should be a cracking fight...live on Boxnation...as now is Carl Frampton-v-Leo Santa Cruz...next saturday over in Brooklyn NYC...looking forward to this one Looking forward to this one AKA. What you think darbo??...Postol too cautious to get his punches off...Crawford happy to get on his bicycle...must confess i did watch it after coming in from taking the dogs out at 4.30am to avoid the heat...and i did start to nod off a couple a times...it did come alive a bit at the start of the

It was a great documentary but a little biased, Johnson wasn't always the poor victim as was portrayed. Can't believe there hasn't been a movie on the man, done right it could be a great film..... Not a bad watch that...preferd the first part not really interested in the (ugly) white women he shagged...Jeffries should of fought him before he retired maybe a different fight 5 years before?...you can say the same about the willard fight it was an old Johnson that Willard beat...noticed the old style English bull Johnson had running about in some of the footage(i notice stuff like that lol)...y

I think fighting folk stand in awe at what those dogs are capable of... Funnily enough all that talk of the G-Man being a dogman and all that, you see the state of those fat little barrels he was parading, dogman my arse.... I know the Manassa Mauler was very fond of his gamedogs, I just wish the world was differnt and we could all celebrate what an amazing canine they really are... The picture i think your talking about is the one of McClellen with two little Staffords...those wernt his dogs...as i remember it they was lent to him in England for publicity shots before the Benn f

i suppose it's what you feel comfortable in really.......but boots would give more support to the ankle tho, didn't mike tyson always have short boots, just above the ankle Tysons black shorts and short boots look was more about looking like Jack Dempsey...than ring comfort

Remember reading he was into pit dogs...but the one in the documentary at the training camp and in his motor defo a English bull... going by the the length of its ears

Used it on an old dog of mine with arthritis many years back...had absolutely no effect i could see whatsoever...only thing i found that made a difference was a high dosage of glucosamine, MSM and chondroitin

Theres also a video on youtube where Ali says he thinks he would of beat Marciano...but that he wouldnt of knocked him out it would of gone the distance...the nearest Marciano got to fighting a fighter like Ali was Archie Moore...Moore was Ali before there was Ali he was a flamboyant showman who courted the press...he even tried the rope-a-dope with Marciano in the early rounds...but it didnt work out for him with Rocky swarming all over and landing...when Joe Frazier was asked if he could of beat Marciano he said it wouldnt be fair to say...or compare different eras...i think thats about righ

I remember seeing this fight a few months back?...commentators said something like someones getting sued in the morning...not a good advert for them boots Not a wardrobe malfunction...but as funny as f**k when Paulie Malignaggi had his hair in them long poofy braids...they got in his eyes cause allsorts of problems...his corner had to hack them off with scissors between rounds!
