  1. I'd agree with you if I thought it was winning in any form. We're not hurting them, we're just turning the wheel again.
  2. Never mind the biggest issue, I still can't see it is even an issue. Where I lived at the time, my street had a street party! There was a DJ, everyone got hammered, at one point two fellas had a tear up, and the police turned up and didn't seem to have a problem with it. These are people that do not interact daily as part of their work. Xmas 2020, I can't remember what the crack was with lockdowns or tiers etc but I organised food and drink for all the depts with staff in the office. Only rule was they had to stick to mixing with their colleagues and not be socialising with anyone and eve
  3. How do they know 21T is missing if the budget is "totally unaccountable"
  4. I can imagine, well I've seen it for too many years in that area. 10-12 years ago I had about 700 acres of permission at Bottesford and it was lousy with rabbits, even for back then! No idea what it's like there now, I saw a group of lads out on there ferreting a few years ago as I was driving through so must be some about still. Had some great nights lamping rabbits at Harby back then too. I'm in dairy country now, and there just seems to be a lot more about this year than last. And a few lads have said the same. Some years I'd see pockets of rabbits cropping up in late summer getting my
  5. I reckon it's better this year. I'm flushing rabbits with the spaniels half often whereas for the past f**k knows how long absolutely nothing. Even been asked to shoot a few in one place. A few lads local have mentioned seeing rabbits about for the first time in years. Sceptical as to if they'll last mind.
  6. What happens if a meteor falls out the sky and hits the barrel to face a child just as you're about to pull... f***ing hell like, the time your finger spends on the trigger even on an intense shoot is minimal with proper discipline.
  7. We thought we had shit out but right on last light they came in. Another was unpicked and all I found in the morning was a gizzard…
  8. The fourtens are certainly good fun for a change. I bought this off of a fella on here a few years ago. Three shot suppressed bolt action. It’s a cheap gun and with its choke only any good for 20 yards. Mostly used for HD tbh.
  9. Old thread but it provoked a relevant thought... If proper trigger discipline is maintained, is epilepsy really much of a risk when shooting? The safety should be engaged and finger away from trigger for all but a few seconds before a shot will be taken. I realise that the problem of course is how many people are really that disciplined.
  10. You say nothing life changing but all those things are probably the foundations of life changing stuff. No resolutions for me though.
  11. I’m sure Goggins wasn’t wired up right. Phenomenal the way he changed his mindset and life. But Nims Dai is the new kid in the block. Unstoppable force!
  12. That's mental. Do the folks of Rufford go to the ford for a few hours just to video cars getting wrecked? Ha I assume a lot of them are shorted electrics an not water in the engine?
  13. Every time I see this specimen it impresses me.
  14. Cheers mate. Just two. I don't want too many dogs so two is about right. Saying that a spare pen is always handy for visitors or hot bitches etc.
  15. Yes, but you can still be overpopulated and have a declining population. As a result of birth rate trends for it is believed that all major regions, including India and China, will see populations declines shortly. All except Africa…
  16. I've finally got the boundaries to about 1500 acres of stalking on my doorstep to explore, with muntjac all the way up to 20+ point stags roaming about. So yeah, I intend to break my iphone step counter over the two weeks I have off! My Xmas has changed quite dramatically since my mate had to promptly move into my spare room...
  17. I drilled a hole in the tread plate on the outer edge of either side. One meter/yard trigger clip dog lead, loop the hand loop over the handle of the shovel and fasten the clip through one of the drilled hole on the tread plate. the head of the shovel will hang flat across your arse when being carried then. When needed for digging, it comes off in about 5 seconds. If you just tied to either end of the shaft then the head of the shovel will be any which way and it'll be sliding up and down the shaft, be a right game. Anyway, worked grand for me!
  18. That’s why I suggest small casual groups operating under the guise of rough shooting and paying rent to make themselves a valued asset to the countryside. The antis wouldn’t be chasing such small informal groups. Hunts are too in your face to avoid them but they survive because they are trail hunting, right, lol. Legitimate coursing could have survived simply by making themselves valuable and operating with a bit of savvy imo. But it was never going to happen so probably ain’t worth even discussing in hindsight.
  19. Problem coursing had is to be the outlaw you make yourself a c**t to powerful stakeholders in the countryside. Shooting has economic and political clout to leverage. Hunting has enormous political tools, there’s hunting men in every corner of the establishment from councillors to PMs, from police wildlife crime officers to directors of intelligence services. Farming obviously has great economic power too. Now I’m not suggesting these make hunting and shooting etc bulletproof but when compared to coursing, what does that have to leverage when deciding to operate the way they do?
