  1. I can't say I've paid much attention beyond how it affects my sport tbh. Certainly not enough to know how it all works. When the farmer boys get talking about f***ing tractors and what not I'm looking for a broken pint pot to slit my wrists with. I'm just wondering if that 70% figure quoted is anything close to reality. I certainly haven't seen 70% of arable left out of production over winter.
  2. How commonly is arable left fallow over winter? I've spent a fair bit of time on arable land in Linc's and it was always growing wheat/OSR in the winter. If that failed for whatever reason they'd have a second go in spring. Is it very different elsewhere? I understand the old payments used to pay farmers to do f**k all with so many fields for the year. Is this going to be the same but now they are sticking a cover crop in them too?
  3. I genuinely don't know enough about it to comment. Sure it seems like a good thing but I know there's often another side. I thought it was interesting from a sporting and conservation point. Covering the countryside in cover crops is going to have a huge impact. I'd love to see this aid grey partridge recovery, the decline largely caused by intensified farming practices.
  4. New plan to pay farmers who protect winter soil WWW.BBC.CO.UK The empty brown fields of winter countryside could be transformed under new land subsidy rules for England. Thoughts?
  5. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/money/2013/sep/07/no-electricity-bill-20-years This woman got off with it for 20 years!
  6. I expect it’ll catch up with me eventually but really my point is now that over 12 months has passed there’s not really any sense in doing their job for them. Well that’s my understanding according to what I’ve read. Just wondering if anyone had any experience of it to share.
  7. Apparently they can't back bill me for more than 12 months, if I have always let them take meter readings, which I have. I've lived here just over 12 months, so looks like it's not in my favour to report anything. Longer it goes the longer I get away with it? A bill for 12 months doesn't bother me.
  8. I moved house over a year ago. I gave meter readings to my suppliers for my old address and just sort of expected to get a letter from the leccy and gas suppliers for my new address at some point so I could set shit up. I took meter readings for the new address on moving in, I've had the meter man come to take readings several times. But I've never had a bill! What the f**k do I do and why aren't they tearing my door down for a years leccy and gas?
  9. I don't really get very worked up about this sort of stuff, but from a purely rational view of the facts, if this same stuff was common place in an indigenous population of a former European colony then it'd likely be considered insidious and potentially a watered down tactic of genocide. I mean, I don't for one minute believe the marketing teams of Matalan etc have genocidal or even political intentions they are purely reacting to the current socio-political landscape and this sort of stuff is what is deemed the most effective from a cost/benefit point of view. This PC ideology is mains
  10. Tell him to get down dover and pick up a couple a cheap refugees. Work smarter not harder!
  11. Those galvanised door sections were about 300 quid! Properly fabricated solid bar, not cheap tubular stuff. They’re only actually 110 each but I paid a hell of a lot for delivery and also stuck on 3rd party latches.
  12. Paid lads to do the base, drains and block work, I did everything else. Probably about 3k tbh. Those insulated boxes cost about 40 quid each to make but that was before timber prices went mad.
  13. MFHA decided they needed a meeting to discuss shit everyone actually doing it has known for 15 years. Utter moronic behaviour from the leadership, entirely their fault and naive as f**k. Cant blame a terrier man or hunt staff for this one.
  14. They’re tucked away so difficult to get pics of but I did it that way for security. Bedded on insulated ply boxes. I had intentions of building fitted raised boxes in the cubby but it’s a touch too small really. They’re ideal for me and look clean and presentable. Ideally I’d have made them bigger but limited by location.
  15. Did you ever do that mountain lion hunt mackem?
  16. Oh yeah for sure she’s one of them directing these attempts.
  17. Just the antis chancing their luck with back door legislation. It might work but has always failed up till now. Its coming though.
  18. If I recall, and I hope you don't mind me doing so, didn't you get checked out for Seasonal Affective Disorder a while back? While I'm busy and see people at least weekly I'm alright. It's between Feb-May that I can feel a bit shit. I love summer and I love winter, just that lull that I wouldn't mind missing.
  19. Had one decent frost two weeks ago, it was beautiful. Very much looking forward to winter proper!
  20. Soon as he's done the morning brief and turned his back.... "Fifty quid to the man who brings me the head of Tim's Reeves!"
  21. It’s foreign muck! Same with Chinese. I don’t mind a Thai though…
  22. Time for some game of thrones shit. At Charlie’s coronation I want to see Anne storm Westminster abbey on an armoured horse and murder all the pretenders. Proper traditional stuff like!
  23. Given Casey is supposed to be a highly decorated for valour former Navy Seal I always thought they’ve kept him pretty tame. The writers had him go full John Wick this season though!
