I wasn’t really justifying it, just explaining why. Since when did the news report anything other than stuff that gets a reaction out of folk?

Opening meets past week or two, along with a few other recent bits of bad press, it all has a bit of momentum in the media. Another time it probably wouldn’t have done.

That's being filmed by sabs right? I fully expect they f****d about in their usual provocative manor stressing every c**t out and that woman snapped with her horse. It ain't right but I'd be a hypocrite if I claimed I'd never regretted my actions with my dogs in a stressful situation after the fact. No idea why you're sticking the knife in re 'dog lads'. Like most lads in hunt service aren't at it themselves...

Terrier work in the USA - Photos and Stories.
Born Hunter replied to SheepChaser's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Just a point of caution regarding range. It appears that the antenna in the B&F collar does not emit equally at all angles, it is optimised to be most powerful in the up/down direction as it assumes you are roughly above the terrier. For your purpose of a shallow area search you may find you have a much reduced range. It's possible rotating the collar 90 degrees will help. But also bare this in mind when testing other transmitters. -
Just f**k off with your cheap petrol!

I think it’s a convenient target. Fits quite nicely with the vegan movement that seems to be prominent right now. I think farming as much as any industry needs a shakeup and we need to look at things holistically and environmentally. Otherwise we’ll have more instances of “yay we saved the Amazon, gin and tonics all rounds!…. Shhhh no one mention that they’re now ploughing the Cerrado grasslands instead!”. Or “yay we are recycling all of the countries used tyres, gin and tonics all round!….. Shhhh no one mention were paying a firm in Asia to take them and they’re just burning th

One point is that it’s a single data point and can’t be considered representative yes. Second is that since then they have taken more samples from more locations and they back up the narrative that temps now are rising faster than ever. I think… but I’m eating fish cakes so I’m not exactly in research mode.

I half read an interesting ted talk the other day on cows and methane. Iirc they said it’s not cow farts that are the main problem but cow burps. And rather than bang the vegan drum they considered solutions including feeding seaweed based diets etc. It was refreshing.

So it doesn’t matter if you’re right?

More carbon than young trees I think. Mature forestry, no.

Has something prompted this question? Trivia - an African nation once did develop nuclear weapons.

Dunno about Hemingway but he kicked about with Roosevelt and possibly Selous. Two people of that era and type who I really do enjoy reading about and should make more effort to read their work one day.

The Tomorrow War on Prime. Alien bugs and time travel. I love it!

No one is the enemy. If an OAP decides to be a pain in my arse then he/she isn't my enemy, they're a problem that I'll deal with in a way that I see as reasonable and correct. This mob have chosen to use civil disobedience to bring about change. That's their choice. Supporting free speech protest and opposing this are not conflicting views. It may be an ineffective position to take but it's not hypocritical or conflicted imo.
-
Be that as it may, there is a difference in principle between the two. Waging a bloody insurgency can be an effective means bringing about political change but that doesn't mean it's acceptable on the same grounds that protest is.
-
This isn't protest really though, this is civil disobedience. It's not simply utilising free speech rights but direct action.

I reckon it'd go the other way. They'd be forced to use small calibres and have to get much closer. It'd be too much like hard work even with thermal, and most would just not bother trying for the skins. It's not worth joining the badger cull for the shitty few quid a head that's offered, can't imagine the skins of anything in this country would ever make decent enough money to motivate anyone to make an effort beyond what they already are doing tbh.

Got to say, I watched the video of that old chap after he got inked and it's not really something I'd support. I totally support the use of force to remove them from obstructing lawful business but that sort of stuff is just plain and simple persecution. It's to be expected as they are creating confrontation but it's not something I'd condone tbh. Someone is going to get seriously hurt if this isn't stopped.

I got excited to be the first.

No need to panick… it’s just the vaccine killing you

I used to have one just like that. No formal training and one of my first dogs, just naturally steady and biddable, retrieved too. I should probably have bred that bitch but I reckon it's something of an anomaly, hard to reproduce, and I moved towards cockers anyway. The terrier I have now is worlds apart. Totally single minded and ignorant. He has one job and he does it well but I do miss that old bitch.
