No mate. Just dead chuffed I bumped into them. It sounds daft but I'm always very envious of them. They marched all the way to the castle where a few of them recieved medals. -
Was in Nottingham town center today and bumped into the Mercian Regiment marching through the center to the castle. 300 of our lads led by full marching band and followed by marching rifles. My pics shite but there was loads of support there for them and they all looked proud as feck! Just back from 6 months in Afghanistan. Marching in Derby tomorrow.

I can't remember if this happened or was just a dream..... Out one night and we were driving down a farm track lamping out the window, spotted a hare and before we had decided to slip or not the bloody lurcher leaps through the drivers window barging my mate out the way. We are having a bit of a laugh about it while the dog is running the hare but this one is a bit too quick and is out the beam. Been following this interesting thread since around the 220 mark, lol. Not much to add but I'm curious about this behaviour. Is it specific to Collie blood (Bulpa and Don were both lurcher to full collie right?) or do many lurchers of different breeding show it? Reason I ask is my bitch (dam was a half x collie grey) is exactly the same. Steady to stock but fecking hates anything harassing her especially beast! She really gets stressed out when they mob us. She's the only lurcher I have ever known to be like it. One eye on the job and the other on near by beast! It's a pain in the arse but cer

She's fine if the big daft buggers just mind their own business but they don't, they come steaming up in force and there's always one that's bucking and bolting like a fighting bull! Now there seems to be a line that she has in her head, if they cross that line they're gonna get it. I just thought I had fecked up the stock breaking and created some wierd behaviour, LOL.

I believe the figures quoted in the media are £3.3M which at 1% tax is £33K. Now personally I would think that just about covers him? But I'm no expert on tax. I don't think it's right that someone can get away with paying such a small percentage of their income in tax, despite the relatively large value, when the average man pays a much larger percentage. But it would'nt stop me doing the same! I would probably just give 50K to charity if I suddenly had an onset of guilt, LOL.

The Duncan, Ideation; you have both missed my point! I didn't for one minute suggest him being a huntsman had f**k all to do with him being found guilty. What I quite clearly said was that a huntsman being convicted of rape and the head of Pubs being convicted of rape, paedophilia and animal abuse will be used by the antis as propaganda against us all. Two serious sex crime cases of significant figures in the fieldsports community with in a week of each other, the fecking antis will be loving it!

My point is that our enemys will love such reports for their propaganda machines. They already make the public very aware of the fact that psycopaths often start off by abusing animals. They will love rape and paedophile convictions of significant figures in the fieldsports community to grease the propaganda machine! GTE, I must admit, from the evidence stated in the report I am amazed that they got a guilty conviction.

Compassion is a large part of what makes us human. It should not be mistaken for a weakness. I know what you are saying and I have thought the same but to live in a society where the weak are not defended would risk us loosing our empathy and compassion. It's a complicated topic.

I would 100% rather have our current system than what I imagine a bartering based society to be like. Bartering is excellent on the small scale (I would rather barter on the small scale) but for a society to do away with currency and rely on bartering would completely stunt the societies and humans achievements IMO. We can't change our nature, it's what has got us here and it is what will have to save us. We could have continued pond lifeing about the place like every other species, but we didn't we evolved into what we are now. Our competative and adaptive superiority put us here and now it is threatening us. Suddenly burning all ya fivers and bartering won't change jack shit. Money isn't the problem, human nature is.
