  1. The fella had far more patience than I would have in that situation. It's just a shame the prick wasn't left paralyzed, and i mean that whole heartedly!
  2. Same as any working dog really is it not. Ya get good dogs, average dogs and just plain shite dogs, no matter the job that they were bred for.
  3. Absolutely agree with that Bosun. I like my dogs to sound the alarm but to shut up when I tell them to. I can't stand dogs that persistantly bark at nothing and everything. Leaves me on edge all the time Edited to add; why don't mods have a 'Like this' button? Might be a bit controversial I suppose...
  4. Nasty fecking lifestyle....
  5. If there's so much as a mouse fart my lurcher and terrier are up looking for friend or foe. They're not really agressive but bark like f**k and scare most people that should'nt be about. Strangely though, my lurcher is quiet in the kennel?

Never had a problem with veggies, usually good bit of banter with them to be fair. If anything I have found that they usually have a lot of respect for me because I am willing to hunt what I eat and so have a better connection with the meat that is on my plate.
  7. Spent three years living in Lboro, some of the girls are stunning but out numbered by lads at about 3:1. Decent scenery and country south of the town if you fancied a good walk. Other than that theres just the usual town stuff, pubs and snooker hall etc etc.
  8. That's so sad: poor you But I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who like the idea of their man bringing home the supper he and his dog have caught. But then again, I'm old enough to be really old fashioned and into the hunter/gatherer thing: I've always liked the whole thing of living off the land and its produce, animal or otherwise. You're obviously moving in the wrong circles: we have a lovely female lodger at the moment: she's a tree ranger (no joke!) and although she doesn't hunt, she traps rabbits in the tree nursery and brings them home for her supper. Try looking at some a
  9. Not a problem with it myself. Can't say I would really want a gf into hunting as it's sorta 'my thing' but equally it's not something I would have a problem with I don't think. Certainly wouldn't have an issue with a girl joining me on a day out in the field, worse things have happened. Slightly different subject but I find I'm more concious of how I explain what my passion in life is to a girl (often just trying to dodge the subject) than I am of what she does. Dunno if it's just me or the soft modern world or what but I don't think a fella that loves to hunt is considered particularly a
  10. That was my point, we are technically at our weakest now, we have a lot of hardware on it's way in the next 6 years that will only strengthem our military like the Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier and the RN and RAF will be getting the F-35s. If force isn't an option now it certainly won't be in 6 years time.
  11. It's the same situation as last time, the Argies are in a shit state and trying to boost national moral with the pointless Falklands argument. If ever was the right time for them to take the islands with force it is now, while we have no air craft carrier..... but they won't...... because it's impossible. So they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel with this desperate piece of disrespectfull propaganda.
  12. Don't even need one to pester the Argies mate, got a squadron of Eurofighters permanantly based on the islands! It'd be like swating disabled flies! I had to laugh when they reported it to the UN as "British militarisation of the islands"...... of course we are militarising the islands! 30 years ago a bunch of dirty scumbags invaded them and once again they are getting lairy about wanting them back...... what the f**k are we supposed to do? LOL
  13. We don't need a carrier, Argie military would'nt get near enough to the islands for us to need a carrier to take them back. And the best bit is, THEY KNOW IT. Besides, we have a decent Heli carrier in HMS Ocean and HMS Illustrious has been converted into an active Heli carrier to.......... Thats a f**k load of Westland Apaches and Chinooks for a ground assault. Add to that our type45 air defence destroyers (one being capable of shooting down the entire Argie AF!), our nuclear powered subs for launching tomahawks and special forces and a whole lot more. I don't think anyone even considers anoth
  14. f**k it....... where my passport and Union Jack? Anyone got a video camera?................ Two tickets to Argie land please Mr British Airways!
  15. It's the british way to stand tall, mature and not get drawn into these pathetic little games, but f**k me is it hard when they're that f*****g cheeky. They're acting like the little gobshite in the playground thinking he's 2ft taller than he really is. Yeh, the typhoons going super sonic over BA sounds good. perhaps also we could surface HMS Astute in their harbour flying a falklands flag, have a cup of tea on the deck and then feck off with a video of our own..... Oh no, that might be construed as an act of war............. f**k EM!
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-17946838 They really are getting desperate now! Disresptecting a war memorial of all things! I wonder if they would be quite so daring as to fly one of their air force jets over the islands.... or perhaps even their entire air force for the little more effort it would take from us in response. That would be a propaganda film I wouldn't mind seeing the result of.
  17. Suburu should offer them as an optional extra for their lagacys.
  18. That's interesting TOMO, but is it a rarity or as common as the experts would have us believe I wonder? I mean rabbits are known to have kits all year round but it's not what I would call common, yes every year I kill the odd milky rabbit doe in december but it's not common considering the total number killed. Just wondering whether the muntjack does are constantly in young/feeding young as we are repeatably told by the experts....
  19. Do they really breed all year round though? Or at least is it common? Or is this just another 'fact' that keeps getting passed around. How many people have killed milky muntjack does in Nov/Dec/Jan? Shot or pre 2005 of course. It's a question I was pondering the other day when watching a doe with a fawn the size of a leveret, I'm genuinely curious as to the answer....
  20. Surely we need to wait for the conservatives to have a clear majority in parliament? The way things stand I believe a vote would certainly be unsuccessfull. We've got one real chance and it would be blown using it now unless something very drastic is done to sway mps in favour of repeal.
  21. Surely a free vote with our current situation would be suicidal for the future of hunting? The vote would almost certainly be NO to repeal and the one chance we had would have been wasted. The majority of voters need to be pro repeal, currently that is not the case. From my point of view everyone that is shouting for Cameron to honour his promise of a repeal need to shut the f**k up and wait untill the time is right.
  22. Really tastey little critters! Fry the loins in oil medium rare like a steak and serve with mash or thick buttered bread, simple but one of the best wild meats ever to touch my tongue! Just wish there were more around me..... and of course that we could legally hunt them with lurchers/terriers.....
  23. Surely the best choice would be a very fast coursing dog, something that is a greyhounds equal in terms of speed but with the hereditary line bred lurcher savvy? That'd be my choice for the sighthound half of a first cross, best of both worlds imo. Probably not an 3/3 hare dog as I doubt the animal in my mind would have enough saluki in it.
  24. Be interesting to hear how this technology is supposed to work...
  25. Nasty little b*****ds cats. They can turn around in their own skins.
