I would 100% rather have our current system than what I imagine a bartering based society to be like. Bartering is excellent on the small scale (I would rather barter on the small scale) but for a society to do away with currency and rely on bartering would completely stunt the societies and humans achievements IMO.
-
How many of you would'nt do the same? I f*****g well would!
-
IMO a barter system would really limit a society. People with specialist skills would struggle to pay for many things. How could an anthropologist or a mathematician pay for his weekly shopping or pay a mechanic? People would stock pile 'barterable' items of worth and then that would effectively become currency, thus making the whole thing pointless. There is f**k all wrong with money! Greed causes shit, and that would exist with a standard currency based system or a bartering based system.

It's a fecking daft question, it needs to be more specific. You can't just add up all the tax rates as a percentage because it means nothing and will give a daft number like 500%. You can't take your hypothetical pound, buy a quids worth a fuel with it and buy a quids worth of alcohol and then leave that same quid as inheritance for someone so you can't just add up all the taxes. The amount you are taxed on any one unit of currency depends how you spend it and how you earnt it. If I was earning 20 quid a week I would pay f**k all income tax and then if I bought a bag of working dog food w

is it not a bit of a daft calculation? It depends entirely on how you spend your unit of currency and how you earnt it (income tax).
-
Im with you on most of what you say. I am in favour that taxes need to be paid but Scrap VAT which is a tax stopping growth to industry. Income Tax should be linked to amount earned as it is now but at a lower rate. This again will make products competitive in a world market.. Taxation on fuel should be at a set level thats sustainable by those who need it as the taxes charged are hiking products up making it unsustainable to a world and home market. The taxation system is stifling growth in all industries. More business start of grants from Government banks overseen by indepe

It's alright folks, don't panic.................. the worlds due to end December 22nd FACT! So all this bother about the illuminate, Rothschilds, Rockefellas etc is pointless?
-
Be very interesting seeing these pups mature! It's a type I think would suit me but it's always a gamble when you know nothing other than a strangers word of the ability of the parents.

We tend to get used to hearing about the sick shit that goes on in this world, but every now and again something comes up that really does shock you and pull on your emotions....... I bet we could clear this country's dept with donations from people wanting to see that fuckers throat cut live on the 10 O'clock news. Words fail me!

Exactly, there's sweet FA I can do about changing the system so I'll just make the most of a bad deal. Hence my questions to Caprelous, because even the way things are if someone gave me 100K bank account I would rip their arm off and I would take a mortgage over rent every time.
-
That's a curious statement. What possible bad could come from someone legitimately giving you a bank account with £100k in it? Also, another question for you on the same note; Very few could ever afford to buy a property in cash at any point in their life but could quite easily with a say 20-30 year mortgage. So what advantage do you see to these people renting all their lives as oposed to taking out a mortgage?

If you have an address and it isn't too far........ money + expenses + trouble to yourself sounds fair.

I don't want to cause any hype over these ferrets mate. I don't want people thinking they are the next big thing, the next must have etc. I still believe that a good ferret is exactly that, it doesn't need poley blood. And to be honest A LOT are taking advantage of this 'must have poley blood' hype. What I will say to anyone after kits, just look for the best bred kits you can find but if they have poley in don't be affraid to give them a go if you trust the breeder. Like I said, with mine I still feel it is early days but the jills have impressed me. The hob I feel at this point is just a

Just read TOMOs reply and I agree with him. Whether or not to charge for kits/pups to relative strangers is always debateable but essentially a ferret is a ferret regardless of whether it has wild poley blood in it or not. I wouldn't have even considered a kit with poley blood in it before last year. I trust Penny and Andy so gave them a go. And I appreciate their kindness.
-
Just out of interest lads and to hopefully prove a point about people who actually work these animals, how much would you guys be selling any excess kits from these for? Well, I have'nt bred any and most probably won't unless I find decent kits hard to come by. I've just had the hob snipped to bring all my jills out of season. Tbh if i did ever breed I would give them to those that deserve them and any excess would probably be given to decent lads that I hope will treat them with a bit of respect. At the end of the day a ferret is a fecking ferret, I don't say to folks hey look at my eu

I've also had a few poley cross kits last year from Penny and Andy. I found them all a little slow to start but by January the two jills were really impressing me. They just worked better than the majority of other jills I have seen, more commited i suppose I would say. The hob is decent but no better than others I have worked and his temperament is more 'skitty' although he is much more relaxed when working. I'll admit I should really have spent more time handling him but that's just hindsight. Early days yet but I'm happy. Looking forward to this season with them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again............. A pound of semtex strapped to the hard drive is perfectily adequate for rapid deletion of your pre ban pics......

Summary Defra is seeking views on a proposed package of measures aimed at tackling irresponsible ownership of dogs. The main proposals: Extending the criminal offence of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control to private property (where the dog has a right to be); Compulsory microchipping of dogs; Removing the need to seize and kennel all dogs where court proceeding are pending; and Increase the fee for placing a dog on the Index of Exempted Dogs I wonder what they define as 'dangerously out of control'....

In hindsight I should have bought the 3dr fiesta car and converted it to a van (soild side window, bulkhead and ply floor... job done?). Bet the raping tax bandits would then want to re-classify it as a commercial vehicle!
-
I had noticed the recent guide dog attack stories on the media and had the same thought Molly. This island isn't the 'green and pleasant land' it once was. Politics, you either play the game or do your best to hide from it.
-
It's a f*****g joke! 1.6 TDCI fiesta car £30 a year, 1.6 TDCI fiesta car derived van £210 a year! I know it's only £180 but it pisses me off, just another law that makes f**k all sense. I use the vehicle as I would a normal car, it's just much more convienient having a van for dogs/game etc.
-
Can anyone explain to me why the road tax for a fiesta van is a shite load more than it is for the same fiesta car? Same engine, same year etc etc. I've searched the net but can't find an answer..... (Thumbs up smiley not working!)

Would that be a Webley Sport .22 10ftlb about £100 new? If so then upgrading to an AA S410 would be akin to going from a Ford Fiesta to an Audi RS5!!! Not taking anything away from the great little Sport (I started with one and would gladly have another) but there's just no comparison (I've since had 2 S410s).

I love the last pic and the fawn lurcher.
-
So, going on from that, what are your reasons, bearing in mind my requirement to have a 'breed' that would be challenging to train, a companion and yes, something different. I would like advice on whether a Lurcher type dog could fit in with my way of life and maintain my interest in and love of dogs. The dog would be expected to accompany me and my Spaniels, joining in, in the collection of any ground game, during our daily walks. Accompany me and my dogs on the local rivers and whilst I was fishing, patiently wait until I moved on and finally accompany me on a few shoot days. I
