I've done over 9 hour round trip to pick a terrier up for a mate, that's about the furthest. Lets be honest folks, it's f**k all really. I would do that just for a good days hunting, not often but now and again. You're going to be putting at least 12-24 months of food, time and money into your pup untill you know whether or not it's a keeper so a days driving to pick it up is piss in the ocean compared to the rest of the journey. For the right breeding anywhere in the UK or Ireland would be realistic. If it's not then how sure really are you about the breeding?

Did anyone see the two races he recently lost in? Was he really trying to win or just do enough? Highly conditioned athlete training to peak at the right time?

It's about the only thing that hasn't been suggested but I'm going with mink. Get some traps down. Though I've never experienced a mink hit pen. Just going on the facts presented. -
My lurcher bitch often cocks her leg to piss! Up lamp posts, bushes etc. Figure that one out?

If you are out mooching about in the countryside with a lurcher folks tend to ask one of two things, "You're not coursing are you!?" or "Have ya had many mate?". I repond to both the same way, with a puzzled look. Lol. Everybody knows why countrymen keep lurchers, we can't escape that. The worlds a very different place to what it was 50 years ago. All fieldsports have to adapt to deal with the new challenges that face them. Undoubtably one of the biggest challenges to the future of lurcherwork is the wave of unsporting bloodthirsty hard men that have little interest in the culture and traditio

Heavy brummy, that new age teenage american accent where they raise pitch at the end of every single f*****g word! Freshys and that inner city gangsta black man accent. Some because it is just genuinely irritating but others because it's f*****g pathetic. Geordie is alright but more of a language than accent, lol. Cumbrian is quite amusing, like a mix of all northern accents! To my ears anyway. Mine of course is perfectly 'normal'!

Whats your take........................
Born Hunter replied to Irish Lurcher's topic in General Talk
I don't see what all the fuss is about personally....... It's only a bit of poxy permission ffs -
Could you possibly let the keepers know. If they give a shite they will want to dog them back in, saving you the job of dealing with them. At least then they have been given fair warning before other means have to be taken. I must admit that pheasant damage is not a problem I have heard of, ducks YES but not pheasants.

I live just down the road and we've had a fair bit of rain like most places. Once you get a few machines on the site preparing for the event it makes a right fecking mess, plus we have pretty much been garunteed heavy rainfall for the next few weeks. I heard a rumour last week that this was to be the last CLA at Belvoir, a falling out between the CLA and the estate over money, yet to have it confirmed though...

It's amazing how much she has thrown to the teckel considering she's only an eighth in her. Just shows that fractions have little correlation with true genetics. Cracker! Will she be used for bushing fox? Seems custom made for the job to me.

£1.50 each at the moment, frozen or fresh, gutted, liver in. NOT shotgun. Depending on numbers involved and distance from Lincolnshire, might be 10 to 25p less if collected Okay mate, I will bear you in mind when I'm getting out again. Do you have a website or contact phone number? The vast majority of my rabbits are either dogged or ferreted.
-
Oh and what about hares, deer and other small game?
-
How do you want them? paunched, skinned, whole etc. Head shot? Shotgunned? Ferreted? Dogged? Price per rabbit? Location/contact details?

I read about a dog that amputated it's own tail while on a steel wire. Personally I would favour the chain.
-
Can you please explain the legal definition of a "working/hunting dog"? If a pet dog chases a squirrel and breaks it's leg while out for a sunday morning walk in the local park would the dog be covered?

In an auto they are good, in a normal double barrel game gun they will absolutely muller you! lol.
-
Either are better than a standard game load. Next time you are out buy a box of 36gm BBs, perfect fox load for a double barrel.

Doing that soon with lads from work, possibly for the air ambulance. I'm expecting casualties!

Other than work on the shoot and general dog stuff, I like to try and keep reasonably fit, indoor climbing and skiing on and off as well more recently, not really much of one for clubs etc so tend to do my own thing but wish I had gotten into boxing/kickboxing when younger. Basically my life is pretty fecking boring, work, fitness, hunting! lol. Not much time for anything else sadly.

Is he the fella that gives it all the pre match talk really laying into his oponant? Beat some ferking mahusive Russian? There was a documentary or somthing with him on it, all about the pschology of sport and winning. It was quite interesting. Very American way of doing things but it's successfull. OUCH! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Arm-Wrestle-Xray.jpg

Is a skipping rope race a sport ? its physical and competetive......................not for me. I dont doubt white water rafting or archery or equestrian dressage whatever its called....are all a whole lot of fun and interesting to watch.............but for me those type of things are interests/hobbies..................not sports. Ive been competing on and off in arm wrestling for years now,it requires a whole bunch of physical and mental qualities and skills but i accept its not a sport, hence i cant accept something like archery or dressage IS a sport......................only my opinion li

Malt, you're of course spot on. I was wrong in my terminology. There is only one superpower currently. I just meant as one of the elite powers in the world, one of the great powers. My bad. Gnash, is a sport not any physical game/event that is competitive? For me, it's the non purist events that are often the most interesting to watch.

Way down the table? We are one of only 3 true Blue water Navies, one of only perhaps 5 nations to have thermonuclear weapons, our airforce has arguably the best air superiority fighter in the world (admittedly the Russians have out done us). It depends how you define superpower but we are still sitting in that category in a lot of people opinions. Feck it, I agree with what you and Peak oil are saying for the most part anyway. Back to topic, my only point was that hosting such a grand event is one way Britain is trying to hold on to it's place in that prestigious club. Whether we are or n

I'm not sure I follow you? I'm just saying hosting such a grand Olympics is just about image, a cock measuring contest as you put it. What part of what I said was wrong exactly? Britain IS still classed as a world superpower, not THE world superpower but one of. A subjective term though I suppose. Hosting one of the biggest Olympics in history is just one way of flaunting that to the world. I personally think our military is a bit more capable than you make out but on the whole I agree with you, spending £10Bn on our forces would be more effective in supporting our image of a world superpo

You've missed my point but fair enough, get it off ya chest.
