  1. The farmer most probably genuinely believes he saw a big cat. But even experienced eyes can be fooled....
  2. Yup, seen the first of em rolling round here earlier in the week. Barley and rape is coming down and a lot of hey being cut while the fecking sun is shining. It's a great time of year, full of anticipation for the coming season, so much so you can taste it. Hopefully spend an afternoon this weekend on some barley that the pigeons have been hitting hard. Stock the freezer up for a late summer party.
  3. Not that I give a toss but he's been on mine this morning too. Say hello chap, don't be shy LOL.
  4. Is there much stuff for the whippets in Canada mate? Obviously here they are bread and butter rabbit dogs, just wondered if they are handy for much in north america or if you are just an enthusiast (nothing wrong with that). atb
  5. I wouldn't put much faith in Britains government experts on such things. A north american cat trapping expert is what is really needed in this country. As for the farmer, obviously it's impossible to say but eye witnesses are often mistaken. If there is a big cat knocking about causing that amount of damage then it won't be long untill it is shot, especially with the harvest starting, lampers will be out in force. Keep a 12 bore handy! lol.
  6. We are experimenting with a small number of released grey partridge this year. What age do people consider is right to start shooting them? I've heard varying opinions from 12 weeks to 18 weeks so far. I guess they're ready when they are ready but a rough idea would be nice.
  7. I've never used one but Sandy raises an inconvienient yet nonetheless valid point; there is absolutely no medical evidence to suggest any sort of magnetic therapy has any effect, especially with such weak magnetic fields. If it works for you though then crack on I suppose.
  8. We need a wall north of Lincolnshire to keep you poaching yorkys out!
  9. Ah FFS, this really isn't what I want to be reading days before moving into a new house! I'm shitting it enough as it is!
  10. If neighbours or surroundings are an issue take the fox to some permission and shoot it.
  11. My terrier munched a battery when she was a pup. Silly fecker got acid burns all in her mouth and on her tongue, ran round shaking her head like her tongue was a rat. I gave her a check over and rinsed her mouth out well and she then went back to look for it....
  12. You should have requested it in writing, then gone to a solicitor.
  13. If I was looking for a trade then I have always fancied tree surgeon or butcher. But it doesn't matter what we would all do, what do you want to do?
  14. Well f**k me, I know that. But that's because scientifically gathered data suggests so, not because my 2000 yr old Roman relatives left me a note telling me to stay in on monday because they predict I will be struck by lightening! LOL
  15. Like I said, the big day can't come fast enough... a none believer shame on you Well, what can I say, I seem to live in a different reality to the 'enlightened ones'! It'll all be conveiniently forgotten come January or excuses of misinterpreting the timeline.
  16. Like I said, the big day can't come fast enough...
  17. is this not a good topic me thinks it is and charp that drinks to strong for you I'm not sure what a charp is but a ancient culture acurately predicting any sort of event hundreds of years into the future is laughable. 19. I dare say I have had the odd conversation with the odd scientist...... I would be interested to hear about the accreditations of these 'scientists' that give the maya calendar 2012 bollocks any credability? Like I said, the big day can't come fast enough to put this one to bed for good.

  21. Bunnys, that pup looks a cracker. Got any front on shots?
  22. It's a sickening thought coming home to find ya dogs gone..... If you live on ya own and work a 40hr week it's always at the back of ya mind. If thieves only struck at night I could deal with that no probs but it's during the day when I'm working that puts the shits up me. Some clever security systems around these days though, especially when connected to modern smart phones. I only hope I never have to go through it. I can honestly say I would rather put a dog down than have it stolen, really does sicken me thinking about it.
  23. We're a nation of animal lovers did'nt you know? LOL. Poison, snare or shotgun is aparantly preferable to a swift hound.... Nice photos though levs.
  24. I can't remember exactly what he said in response to getting beaten recently but it was something like "when my coach is worried then I will worry, my coach isn't worried....". What channel was this programe on? anyone? I wouldn't mind catching it.
