Trophy Skins.
Born Hunter replied to baldockbanks courser's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Tried rabbits once and got pissed off with tearing the skin while trying to scrape it clean. Got a mate that does the odd dear skin, he's currently doing a muntjack buck and always uses tradition brain tanning. I want to try tanning a nice winter fox skin but tbh I'd prob just end up sending a nice one to a proper tannery. Would love a decent tanned coyote skin as well. -
Jesus f*****g christ............. what a great use of tax payers money. The old boy maybe wants to invest in a better air rifle! Never heard of a 2.2 caliber............

Looks very nice matt. I can't help but imagine something very similar with a 8" blade for the lads that dog boar and big bucks/stags! -
Why shouldn't they if you have a habit of kicking shit out of them. I don't think any case can be built upon hearsay but if you are a prolific. Convicted wife beater. Then fair play If you are a convicted wife beater then it'll be on your record! Why ask the consent of past/current partners? Unless we want to base an application on the say so of potentially biased people? It just opens the doors to spitefull wankers preventing grant. It's a stupid idea only being talked about to apease the anti gun lobby. It wont save a single life but WILL prevent some unfortunates from being grant

That last stag had some pretty amazing head gear! Something about the delicate roe buck though, beautiful creatures.
-
Snap! Not exactly a blizzard but deffo very light snow.
-
Why should a past /current partner have any say at all? If you haven't be prosecuted in a British court then any accusations are meaningless surely. More bullshit legislation imo. Maybe they should ask ya next door neighbour if your a nice chap as well? Perhaps the milkman's opinion should also be sought after?

Give A Dog A Pill? Mark11.
Born Hunter replied to sandymere's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
i was waiting for that one lol if you could get the above for free wouldnt you be interested what you could use for what.....................................there was me thinking you were the professor .............. I think sandy is being quite wise not giving advice on prescription medication over the internet. I'm sure he's fully aware of what use they are. -

Glad you have bumped this thread back up Matt, i just like looking at your knives. Any pics of the blade on the fieldcrafter with the dagger grind? -
Nobody dares vote away from the main two partys for fear of 'a wasted vote' and the main two partys don't give a feck about what brits want................ ergo ipso facto columbo oreo... we're as good as f****d!

Antiseptics And Antibacterials
Born Hunter replied to Born Hunter's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
That's what I have. The science behind it makes it sound impressive at least and I believe it's prescription only in many countries. They also use TCP in hospitals, it's that very familiar hospital smell. They all have their strengths and weaknesses but those two stand out to me. That said, it's not very often I feel the need to do anything with a wound. -
Malt, I'm shocked! Trust you perverse Welsh to taint the good conversation! I thought we were talking about snow?
-
SO UNFAIR............LOL Probably a lot of englishmen that would be glad of 6" Too right! Those of us burdened with 10" certainly have bragging rights but f**k me does it become problematic after a while! Oh to be Welsh...... don't have these problems in Wales eh?
-
SO UNFAIR............LOL North Nott's will be brought to a standstill again! Last couple of years they had it bad, my mate was having to drive his lads to site in his old Defender because none of em could get! Practically shut his business down for a couple of weeks. But I fecking love it! LOL
-
6" forecast for the majority of the East Midlands with high ground (approx 200m+) to get 11". Excellent!
-
Incredibly f****d up from the plot of it I have just read!!! Anyone that had anything to do with that needs a check up from the neck up!
-
I'm not clued up enough on this to make a good decision but on what little I do know, I'm OUT. Side note; I was reading that Obama and the US want us in as it's "in the US interest for the UK to be part of the Euro". They want a puppet in the Euro to push their agendas by my interpretation of that.
-
Many would say not......... I'd be inclined to agree, at least not a terrier in the true sense of the word. But who really gives a shite what the fella in the street thinks, all that matters is that we are happy with our own dogs, bollocks to pleasing anyone else.
-
Teach em while pups, they can't run so fast or jump so high so less chance of them hurting themselves badly. I lost count of the amount of skin tears my bitch had in her first 18 months. Now she knows her game she very rarely picks up jumping/barbed wire injuries, she knows her abilities through hours of practice and mistakes as a pup.
-
ive got a 10 year old and a 14 year old that jump them daily and have done all there lives, jumping is as much a part of lurcher work as retrieving is, if you want to wrap it in cotton wool then stick to fly ball
-
I would soon get pissed with a dog that couldn't jump a gate. Any lurcher should be able to piss a 5 bar gate imo. ffs I know spaniels that can clear 5 bar gates so a lurcher should sail over. Just simply from a practicality point.
-
Bombard them with complaints! I haven't even seen it but Paulus's description was enough to get the jist and coble something together. The antis oil their propaganda machine regularly and it runs like a german engine! They hit hard with very little real muscle, and we stand toe to toe taking every hit like a damn fool! It's about time we took a leaf out of the yanks books and started hitting back with our much bigger muscles! But we wont will we, we'll shrug our shoulders and pretend we aren't in the fight or we have already lost.....
-
Fair enough they can have a real lack of empathy but lets look at the full picture.............. who was it that looked after all these cats after the crash? Yeah, the locals........... also chinese! Untill a rescue could take them on. Not all bad and evil.
-
That dogs a real cracker! Really well put together. I wouldn't struggle to find room for a dog like that! If it worked half as well as it looks!

A film that is about a British army outfit shooting werewolves is genius, but is it feck scarey! I liked the Grudge, good ending. The Grudge is the only film I've never managed to watch to the end. It just freaked me out lol I must admit, I watched it in broad daylight with the curtains open....... This is embarassing but it took me three attempts over a period of years to watch The Sixth Sense! FFS! It's not even scarey once you've seen the end! Managed 5 minutes of The Exorcist while at uni, the bit where the little girl is in the bed violently flipping about.........
