It may be the case with the yanks but i'll bet my mortgage the split arses would get special "dispensation" in our forces. it happened with the first woman passing the all arms commando course. It took her three attempts, (dunno if that's average?) and I believe she is still the only woman to pass? I know that commando course for 3 commando is a step up from your standard infantry selection but sorta speaks volumes that only one woman has passed and even then took her three attempts.

I don't get all this "the british are spineless, happy to sit by and do nothing" talk. What do you expect people to do? When most have a career and family to support! I won't sit by and watch a muslim harass a British non muslim but am I hell going on a crusade that is doomed to fail and land me in the shit. Same as me mate.......my son in law is off out to Afghanistan any time now i sit asking him questions just like you say to try and get an understanding........but ive realised i probably never will understand we are all made different......i look at this lad and feel all worried and protective towards him ......and here he is going away fighting to protect us !!........He,s not a hardman by any means.......but mentally he makes me look like a girl !.......Just different class these boys. The thread's took a different spin now, but that's the point I was trying to make WILF. I appreciate that British troops are trained to respond effectively no matter what they are faced with and that training would get them through hell, but facing women and adolescents in battle would surely have a psycologically deteriorating effect on troops? What do I know....... just trying to understand.

I think even a hardened soldier would struggle a little pscologically after running a woman or child through with cold steel. They're trained to respond to threats violently but that shit is still gonna burn itself into their conscience. You would do what you had to and what you had been trained to do, but that doesn't mean it's a done deal and forgotten about.

I believe the Taliban and others make good use of that fact to. Using women and children as shields and even soldiers. Can you imagine the psycological impact having to clear an area with bayonets and coming up against an armed kid or woman?

I think most will tell you 5 months is no age! That said, my bitch saw and killed her first rabbit at 4 months by accident and was completely wired after that, running any clump of grass she could spot. It was a big mistake for a pup so young. -

Just playing devils advocate, are their not potentially exceptions? If woman passed the necessary training? Or is it a case of, you only really find out whos capable when actually out there on the front line? And so you would have a lot of women crumbling despite passing selection and training.

And they still do Kay, I graduated with a girl that went to Sandhurst, one of the guns is in the RAF Regiment. where he met his wife and another guns daughter is currently in Afghanistan. Also women serving in the likes of the British Special Forces Special Reconnaissance Regiment. Plenty in Intelligence gathering services, MI5, GCHQ etc. But front line combat roles like RMs, Paras, rifles, gaurds etc and even special forces? I just think a dangerous decision to make.

Of course, they should have to pass the same selection and training as any other soldier, commando course or similar to prove they are the equal of a male soldier. But that's not my problem with it, they're gonna be targeted and used as emotional blackmail. Dress it up how you like, but a video of a woman being abused will cause a media shit storm compared to a male soldier, those that have to make tough decisions will potentially be forced into the wrong decision. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-21172033 Looks like the yanks have come over all PC and are now going to allow women to serve in front line combat roles including top end infantry units, US Rangers, Green Berets and even the likes of Delta and SEALs. It's certainly equality but is it sensible?

No you're right it's not their fault. I don't blame any of them for taking advantage of the weak system. I do however blame them as individuals for abusing our culture and native peoples. And again, just because we did the same in history, I feel no ethical obligation to sit by and take it on the chin. so with all due respect....what are you going to do? Vote UKIP. What else can we do? I'm not sat here moaning about it, I just took offence to being told that we SHOULD tolerate it. What do people want us to do, start a civil war?
