I don't think they need a pupet government Scot mate, I believe there is already an independant Crimean government that is very sympathetic to the Russians. All they need is for those people to choose full independance and everything can remain legal and securely 'Russian'.

Scot, I don't want to go to war over Ukrain, lol, but do you not think that this could be the start of something much worse? Besides, they still haven't invaded Ukrain, they have secured their assets and 'citizens' in the Crimea without a shot fired, which as I said pages back is 'maybe' justifiable but still concerning. He's walking a fine line at the mo. I'm glad NATO hasn't moved military assets, because Putin would just laugh at how f***ing hollow the threat is and probably escalate violence. That said, our response has been that weak that we've basically just told him he can take back wha

We showed how divided the core of the NATO alliance is! I said at the time, I didn't want us going to war but that snivelling rat Milliband made us look weak and divided. That parliamentary vote didn't go unnoticed by Putin and will have been on his mind when planning his moves in the Crimea. IMO it's mental to sit by and let the Russians carry on as they please. Give em and inch and they'll take a mile. Not only that, it sets a presidence; the Chinese are backing the Russians too, why?................. Those disputed Japanese islands in the Pacific!

Any Demand For Grey Partridge???
Born Hunter replied to gamerooster's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
I'd be real interested in finding out what your returns are after 5 years mate are. My grandad was a firm believer in a 5 year plan when trying to get a good stock of greys on the place. Couple of barren pairs on the place should take young poults on no bother. There a great wee bird....not so easy as the red leg to rear, pecking b*****ds. Yeah, it will be interesting to see how it develops if the keeper sticks to the English as he is doing. We already had a reasonable population of English about, not huge numbers but reasonable. We were doing so shit on the released Frenchys that a -
Restrictions To General Licence?

It'll make roost shooting very hard to justify! A seasonal tradition that has been part of our rural heritage for decades. It's okay to release reared birds to shoot but not okay to shoot a truly wild bird for the table? It's okay to shoot a wild deer for economic gain but not okay to shoot a rabbit for the pot? Our society is being sterilised!............. Ethically the most pure justification for hunting any animal is for food. -
Well that's shite! Get well Simo.

Sometimes it's nice to just be amongst the hussle and diversity of a city, dunno why but spending the morning mooching about a city, get a coffe and watch 'city life' is as good a mental detox as a walk with the mutts in the peace and tranquility of a wild place...... It's something I find myself doing quite often tbh, not that I can be arsed to go out my way much.

Any Demand For Grey Partridge???
Born Hunter replied to gamerooster's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Properly managed land with serious predator control can do wonders for the English. They're a wonderful little bird. I enjoy knocking a few down each season with the gun but I also get a great deal of pleasure seeing them about in the summer months too. Beautiful little bird! -
Any Demand For Grey Partridge???

We have been releasing a small number of English for the past 3 years in preference to Frenchmen. Can't remember where the keeper buys them from. I read an article last week about wild breeding rates of released conventionally reared English and it made for grim reading, something like 1/1000 succesfully rear young. This is greatly improved with more natural game farm rearing practices. -
Interview Gone Bad.......

The FEO sounds like a prick! They wont revoke your driving license for 3 points so why would they decline a FAC. LOL -
The yanks quite like us and the Canadians.......... they all think we're Ozzies mind. Met a load of south Americans last year, Mexican, Venuzealan, Columbian, Argentinian and they all like us too. Bit of banter as they find the English accent funny........... Didn't have a good word to say about the Scots though!....................

I used to like you......

Was it really any more premeditated than a relationship between two 30 yr olds? There's plenty of women out there that have a predatory nature when it comes to their future lovers Devious fuckers! I think the old man's reaction speaks volumes, he knew and trusted his son and obviously didn't feel concerned enough to get involved. The Grandmother's reaction shows the difference in how men and women view these things and why I say it IS different if the genders are reversed.

What The Shortest Rimfire Mod Available?
Born Hunter replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Paulus is being facetious! LOL "When looking at moderators there are two different physical layouts, firstly the conventional muzzle-mounted moderator and secondly the less conventional reflex or telescopic moderator. The muzzle-mounted moderator as its name suggests, is attached to the end of the muzzle; thus the expansion chamber and baffles are all housed off the end of the muzzle. This greatly increases the overall length of the weapon; as a result this incurs both balance and handling penalties. The reflex moderator sleeves the expansion chamber back over the barrel greatly reducing t -
She's not cold, so ignore your mate. Everytime you go to put her in her kennel give her a bit of a treat (something really tastey to her, sausage or something). She still wont particularly relish the thought of spending time in there (that just comes with routine) but it'll at least get her excited about going into her kennel. I'd expect her to settle at nights more over the next week.

You would have thought that a so called "educated" judge, would have taken this into consideration when passing sentence ..... how is 4 years, out in 2 a deterrent to any other retard Educated, perhaps......... left wing dreamer, deffinately!
-
4 years is about the average term given for killing someone with a single punch in a confrontation............. rightly or wrongly. However, the victim was one of societies vulnerable, one of the people the rest of us are supposed to show tollerance and understanding through natural human decency. That f***ing animal calously attacked one of societies weaker individuals, for what...... the macho bragging rights of a 'one punch knock out'? Real hard man that........... God I'd love to take a bat to that animals face and then that old hag that spawned it.

Honest to god, what's the point in a full life sentence? Just slug the animals and dispose of them like sick livestock. Islamists DON'T rehabilitate! We know this. But they will continue to spread their ideology while still breathing.

What The Shortest Rimfire Mod Available?
Born Hunter replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Just to point out. The dB unit system is a logarithmic ratio of the measured pressure level to a reference pressure. Basically what I'm trying to say is that a reduction in dB by a factor of x2 corresponds to a sound pressure change by a factor of x10. Bottom line, try em and see if it's worth it. -

http://www.shootingtimes.co.uk/guns/369774/Ten_of_the_best_17HMR_moderators.html Shooting times review of hmr mod's. I bought the scirocco for my hmr on friday, seems to do the job and pleasantly found it to be one of the best in sound reduction according to the above. Stripable and looks smart as it's profiled to the varmint barrel. -
I'd say we don't 'kill for fun', we hunt for fun. Fox hunts are a perfect example of this, they're not carrying out pest control in the main, or hunting for the pot, it's purely sport.
-
LOL on that!
-
Eh? It was going to be a yank led strike...... They pulled out because they lost home political support because we pulled out, not the other way around. It would certainly have been a US led Op, possibly/probably handing over control to a French/UK coalition as with Libya for political reasons. Fracking may have given the yanks self sufficiency (as I hope it will improve ours) but they still have HUGE bussiness interests in the Middle East. That aside, we're talking their 'old enemy', the red army, I can't see NATO letting Russia start seriously throwing thei weight about in such a way as
