Whether or not an act is subjectively termed 'humane' depends on the context/situation far more than the actual act itself. For instance, it would widely be considered inhumane to smother an infant in their sleep...... however in the context of that poor infant being trapped in a burning building and moments from horrendously burning to death I think it would widely be considered an act of compassion and humane to smother the infant in their sleep. I don't like it and would certainly prefer it be labelled by law.............. but I can't help but feel a bit of a hypocrite to say it's plain wrong. I'm not really sure on my moral stance tbh. I felt the Muslim came across better than the Jew, who I had nothing but contempt for after he had finished his bit, arrogant tosser!

Inducing current flow in the pipe? I'd say so, same sort of thing that's in the inside of an electric motor or a dynamo. In a motor/dynamo you usually have wound copper coils inside magnets, this has the magnet on the inside the copper though.. Aparently the 'trick' is a well known one....... So the magnet has to roughly fit the bore of the copper pipe (that's what confused me initially). The pipe isn't magnetic but is conductive (that's critical!). As the magnet falls it induces current flow radially which induces its own magnetic field which opposes that of the magnet itself re

I hope so. I get absolutely the bare minimum of domestic jobs done in the winter! Got a list of stuff I want done by June/July so fair weather with the longer evenings would be very welcome. I quite fancy a few days in Dorset/Devon/Cornwall and having a go at diving and exploring the coast/rocks, so some scortching weather would leave me with little excuse not to.

Got a few places we can chase a few but on the shoot I kinda piss on my own chips by relentlessly killing them year round. I couldn't find a drey now if I tried. Dogs love it mind, the lurcher's a real natural.

How on earth do you survive on one meal a day!? Christ, two hours barely pass without me raiding the kitchen. George Foreman Grills are spot on for quick and easy bangers Pete. I'd struggle to eat any meat that has been 'cooked' in a microwave!

LOL, no that doesn't mean it didn't happen. This is the same as with the God thread, we say "you have no proof of God therefore why believe he exists?", they say "yeah, but you can't prove he doesn't". It's a pointless logic and nothing in our society is based on such a pointless logic. If I accused you of a serious crime, I would be expected to substantiate my claims with evidence, otherwise they are rightly considered utterly meaningless. The reason I asked for proof, is because everytime BoP control is mentioned the "huge amounts of birds are dumped" argument always comes up like it jus

And you believe that is common practice across the industry or an isolated case? That was my point. Of course there is waste and ethically questionable practices. But they're not common place and without being able to substantiate claims of 'huge amounts of game dumped' there is no way to quantify the degree of which it happens. Just because a few shoots have on occasion dumped game because they had no outlet for it and didn't want to turn down business does not mean that it is common practice or even a significant minority or shoots.
