  1. I'm assuming 'wolfhound' means something different in the US? Have you asked what the parents are killing? Well they look the part. Good luck...
  2. Are you asking for the going rate to buy a deer or the going rate to shoot a deer/lease stalking?
  3. What a time to be alive, eh! Edited, if you don't like this post I'll probably kill myself
  4. LOL, that expression is from me telling her to sit still for a photo. Dogs seem to hate being told to sit for photos, I think having a camera pointed at them feels a bit confrontational.
  5. LOL, I'm not suggesting anyone in particular has. I'm just saying, we're conditioned not to by societies morals (taboo as you say). I doubt very much that it is hard coded into our DNA, so it stands to reason that when folks are given what they consider total privacy some of that cave man savage comes to the fore occasionally.
  6. It's very true, to a degree. Psychologically, biologically we're basically the same as we were 50'000 years ago, It's only the morality instilled on us by culture and society that keeps us from behaving like the savage that is in our DNA. That savage crops up from the deepest recesses of our mind now and again and because of our moral programming we suppress it instinctively. Well, that's my opinion!.... I'm sure where you stand on that issue is some sort of well known argument in sociology/anthropology (some ology), nature-nurture or something. LOL
  7. It'll still work out at XX price per bird and then the keeper will make sure the day doesn't surpass what he has charged them for. Other than on a mop up day at the end of Jan where you just pay a fixed lump for an open ended day every shoot charges per bird, that's just how shooting is dominantly valued. I can't see how charging for a day makes it cheaper per bird and therefore bigger days. It just doesn't work out like that. It's simply a matter of shooting birds being in demand and eating them not quite keeping up with that. But lets straighten something out, the harvested meat has dro
  8. It's best you don't dig too deep into the human psyche, it's not a very pleasant place!
  9. You don't pay to take what you have shot fella, only to shoot it in the first place. Most keepers would be happy for guns to take what they want out the chiller. 2k birds to wood might be 500-800 in the chiller, split over say 10 days that's 50-80 birds a day. Between beaters and guns that should be easy to shift. If he's shooting fewer but bigger days then I doubt his returns will be anything decent but when you are talking 100+ bird days then a outlet (game dealer/pubs) becomes necessary. The supply of game birds to the food market is really just a case of shooting 100, 200, 300+ bird days b
  10. Rough shotgun Smart shotgun Yard shotgun Big stuff rifle ...and I’ve got a little stuff rifle. I don’t collect guns, they all have a specific purpose and all get dirty regularly.
  11. No none at all, frankly a bit of stress wouldn't kill me. A big hectic family Christmas sounds great.
  12. I usually lose weight this time of year if anything. I'm much more active as I have more time off work.
  13. Critically missing a couple half inch slabs of black pudding. Otherwise looking good with a mug of coffee and glass of juice.
  14. You mean his parents....

    Snow.

Fresh as’ this morning! -4 I think and I love it. In the office now which I do not love, lol.
  16. Can you imagine if they walk out Alf
  17. Absolutely Wilf. I hate seeing folks get knocked for simply not having any nastiness in them. Some folks just aren't made that way, doesn't mean they will be destroyed by the bullies either.

    Snow.

I love it, could happily have 3 months of snow every year.
  19. That's the sad truth and frankly knowing what I do now I wonder if it was even worth bothering turning up on that Thursday.
  20. Mate, we made a bold choice in a referendum and then had a very democratic general election to allow us to decide how we want brexit to go down. What did we do...... went straight back to same old party politics bullshit and forgot all about the referendum we had few months prior.
  21. America's economy is the largest in the world. They don't have to give a shit in trade talks. But then Obama's administration did back down on striking Assad when the UK Commons voted not to support him! Ballsy eh. It appears Russia knew damn well NATO wouldn't do squat. Theyve suffered sanctions but the affects of the oil downturn has dwarfed those. Annexing crimea was bold but then Russia have never allowed themselves to become dependant in the way we have with the EU. Same with the US and China really. China are a independent heavyweight like the US, I can't think of a situation w
  22. Nature is a stone cold savage mother f****r of a bitch! Most folks just arent used to seeing it so raw. That's probably the reality for most polar bears, either that or drowning during the melt? Kinda puts rifling one, or any other act of hunting that gets greenies all emotional, into context I think.
  23. That tiny majority doesn't give the right power so much as it makes their compliance necessary for the tories having any power at all. Those that want a no compromise brexit have no power. You may think otherwise. And we're still at a huge disadvantage in negotiations. Whether we have a strong government or not.
  24. There's an argument to be made that on such constitutionally ground shaking matters there should be a two thirds majority to ensure there is the will to see it through..... an argument, not one I'm convinced by. LOL LOL The one thing I'm taking from this is that we will have greater freedom by the end of it..... hopefully! And I've played my part in causing some shit for the establishment. I'm turning into a bit of an anarchist!
  25. Frankly the moment the EU started taking charge of how the negotiations would go and treating the UK like a minor in the whole matter I'd have told them to suck my dick in bureaucrat lingo and walked. You can't go into that sort of negotiation without a willingness to watch the world burn and expect to better a much more powerful opposition.
