Snowflake Teacher Resigns After 1 Term.........
Born Hunter replied to Blackbriar's topic in General Talk
A product of the "everyone deserves to go to university" mentality pushed by social justice bollocks. People that go to Uni and do a solid degree come out to a market offering half decent graduate positions. All of my peers are in professional positions because they did a course that had value to employers. We're not rich and not many of us are likely to ever be but we're doing okay. Bin the attitude of "everyone deserves to go to uni" and the associated "uni should be free" and help high school kids make informed realistic decisions on their lives. The idealism needs to be f****d off. -
f***ing hell this'll go down well. No I don't think they need medical help. Some folks just like to dream of what might be. Occasionally, very rarely, they are even right.

It'd be more meaningful if she backed it up with a hike in defence spending...

Finding homes for shot birds
Born Hunter replied to Jarvis's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
I think that unfair. Smaller shoots don't tend to supply the market, they deal with all their birds themselves. The number of birds that commercial shoots are putting into the hands of game dealers totally dwarfs that from small shoots. -
I've been banging that same drum for a couple years now with any modern liberal that needs it. For a demographic that hold 'acceptance' as their greatest virtue they have a terrible habit of not accepting anyone that offends them! Freedom of speech is the most important part of democracy, it's the mechanism for change and self determination. Marginalising, either through legislation or simply through a social platform is not progressive, accepting or democratic. Honestly I loved Trump getting elected just to see the dumbfounded look on these peoples faces...... and f**k me, they stil

I think the yanks would say "He's a STUUUD!" Nice one for the wall! Good luck. -
Oh, lol, yeah no doubt. It's being trialled in Australia (for some reason) and I have no doubt thousands will be sending their explicit images in!

I don't understand mate?

The un-blurred images aren't kept. I don't know the technicalities of the process, maybe one of THL's computer geeks can explain it properly? My understating is they use cryptographic hashing which essentially applies an algorithm to the image to generate a unique ID for that image. The image is then blurred, the blurred image is stored as a future reference and the un-blurred image deleted. Then using that ID they compare that with the IDs of other explicit images on the net to determine instances of 'revenge porn'. Unfortunately it's apparently easy to get around by a very simple edit t

You wont see much, the images are blurred before being processed. I'm not convinced it's a good idea either but the same technique of 'hashing' is apparently being used successfully to combat the distribution of sexually explicit images of children on the internet.

I like that you photographed a head shot animal from a discreet angle. I see loads of folks put very graphic head shot pics up on social media and I don't think it does us any favours.

Sir James Dyson is a truly great Briton, a throw back to the sort of brilliant minds we had in the war effort imo. I like the way he runs his business too, very innovative and stimulating.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/oct/29/will-reintroduced-lynx-hunt-britains-sheep According to a monitoring programme in Norway, between 259 and 486 lynx are responsible for killing 6,000-10,000 sheep each year. In some regions, individual male lynx have been known to take up to seven sheep each month. http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0079261#pone-0079261-t002 Also most predators, particularly feline and canine, surplus/thrill kill. Most warm blooded predators are documented to.

Wild European lynx have been recorded killing that many sheep over a month.

I wish I had gone to the natural history museum in NYC when I was there and the Beretta Gallery that has either Hemingway's or Roosevelt's shotgun (can't recall) amongst other great stuff. Wish I had been more motivated when I was in Paris too and found out about the Gallery of Palaeontology and Comparative Anatomy. -
You expect to get schooled by a nerd but schooled by katchum too!

That's not part of the site, it's part of your web browser. If you are using a PC or tablet then it'll be next to the forward and backwards buttons (top left?) if you are on an iphone then you have to drag down and hold while it highlights the refresh icon. The icon in all instances is a circular arrow. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=refresh&rlz=1C1LDJZ_enGB669GB669&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjigfjo8rHXAhVHDMAKHcN6D80Q_AUICigB&biw=1263&bih=454#imgrc=buog3Fwbhi6VAM:

Holy crap how will we make up the shortfall?
Born Hunter replied to secretagentmole's topic in General Talk
The situation is real simple, they are our main trade partners and we are one of their main sources of EU revenue. They're the priorities for each side respectively. We could cut a simple deal where we continue to pay every pound we do now for our current level of free access to their market but they won't have it because of their ideology regarding the four freedoms and to a lesser extent who's court has supremacy etc. As far as I can see, and what I suspected and said well before the referendum, it's a no goer! Loads of folks reckoned the EU would roll over for us "they won't want to lo -
I quite enjoyed watching Dave Salmoni's experiment. It was quite controversial.
