  1. What ya watching? The sort of stuff you only watch over this holiday. I did Tomb Raider last night and The Golden Compass now.
  2. Ships!.... ships bob, boats sort of sink.
  3. I'm not a massive fan of taxidermy for myself, though I do like looking at good pieces like those. I'd go for a nice wall mounted skin probably. Frankly if I was going all the way to Montana or wherever to chase one at great expense then I'd most likely be killing one. It'd not be as important to me as having an exciting hunt though.
  4. I get that. I'd be like that with bear and wolf, even Bobcat. Other than a bleached skull I'm not sure there'd be much from a lion of interest to me. To be able to say I'd crawled into a cave with one to pull hounds away after a quick 10 miles in the hills would be everything though. ...........
  5. Isn't it more of a recruiting slogan than motto as such? Point stands though. Now the royal navy has a good motto, if you wish for peace, prepare for war. That's some real gritty ancient philosopher shit that.
  6. My sentiments too. But for me getting on level terms with the lion would be part of the thrill. I bet forcing one out of a tree and having hounds screaming off after it is a hell of a buzz. Done similar with mink, LOL LOL, a lion or bear would be proper caveman shit!
  7. Its clear to everyone now continuing to back a hunting repeal is political suicide, even before the GE there were Tory voting countrymen wondering why they had it in the manifesto. Its a done deal now, history for ever.
  8. For me wind river was just a honest but steady murder mystery / vengeance film. The main guy being a skilled hunter, showed a lot of that lifestyle quite accurately, rather than the usual caricature of a stupid disrespectful hunter. It wasn't in anyway an edge of your seat thriller. Kinda similar to Longmire in that respect, gritty but slow. I don't think it appeals to your average cinema goer, it's too realistic for them imo. Only thing for me that made it 'Hollywood' was people getting knocked off their feet when shot. I watched daddy's home 1 last week for first time. Pisse
  9. A photo from Bullridge Guide Services. Looks a bit serious
  10. Seen it! Haha I was going to find a thread to stick it on for you. Looks good, I just hope it has a decent plot and they haven't just upped the violence and outrage to milk out another film. I finally watched wind river the other day.... really liked it! And I want his job, LOL.
  11. Much like a terrierman can "just shoot it" after a dig or bolt. It doesn't do it justice to focus on the kill too much and is what gets these things banned. The hunter will almost certainly have a slot booked at his taxidermist for what will probably be a once in a lifetime hunt. Not to mention lion meat is much like pork apparently. And finally killing the lion is part of an essential predator control policy that makes the north american conservation model the best in the world.
  12. I don't even own a scarf, honest!
  13. Happy holidays! Go on someone bite. LOL
  14. Good to know! Ribeye is also my preferred steak.
  15. @ChrisJones have you ever had that american staple steak and eggs? I mean, is that actually something you can order for breakfast? I want to give it a go next time im over.
  16. Dunno if these guys are on FB but worth a follow. Team Fate Outdoors Royal Tine Biggerstaff Hounds
  17. You're all c**ts! This is why I had to leave my old Saturday cafe!
  18. I do prefer coffee over tea.... And I can't really bring myself to walk around with one of those cardboard cups like I'm cool as shit. Sooooooo........
  19. I'll f***ing show you my 'cereal and sushi' breaky in the morning! Propper decent place I've been pointed to for my Saturday cafe about 3 weeks back. Its f***ing murder finding a good cafe that's not in town.
  20. Chris Jones is right on US diners, some quality breaky and service over his side!
  21. Eggs have to be actually cooked, that means no snotty whites. I can't believe I even have to say that but I've experienced it. Also if they don't do black pudding then they are just playing at it.
  22. Not much chance of me having a spare 4k+ to spend on it but it would be amazing for sure. I honestly wouldn't care for killing one just getting close and personal and having a race through the mountains. Hunting black bear sounds good too, in standing corn or bailed up in a cave but I'd be wanting to kill one of them.
  23. I think lion season opened in most places about a month or so back. I love waking up and having a flick through social media of all the lion hunters I follow and seeing videos of hounds going like hell at the base of a fir in the snow. The houndsmans life in the north looks a good one!
