  3. It's not about kids that scare easily. It's about the full grown blokes that harbour some romantic notion of football hooliganism when, the truth is, they were bang out of order. Innocent people would get caught up in their crap, people were assaulted, pubs (someones livelihood) would be trashed, cars would be damaged etc - all a knock on effect of someones match day alcohol/drug fueled 'fun'. Of course a boy can be prepared for a bit of noise and language but, violence and disorder? No romantic notion here, I will hold my hands up to what I did, but I don't see it as a romantic notion f

  7. Like i said theres plenty of impressionable little lads who have read some hooligan books or fat old men pretending they,re still 17 yes granted.......but the fact is terrace culture in England ended years ago it would be like a bunch of Mods turning up at a pop concert and bashing up what they think are Rockers............everyones gone home its all done and dusted years ago !When I was in my impressionable mid teens I remember a documentary about the ICF on the telly, I had it recorded on my beta max lol.....must have been late 80's ??... you remember that Gnasher, was that your era ??

    Wwii Bomb

Couple of years ago my pigs dug up a shell, live close to catterick and am told they used to stash stuff down my lane years ago away from the garrison. Anyhow the cops and the bonb squad came out and sorted it out...since then the pigs have dug up some bullets and half a grenade !!! Will stick some pictures up.....
  9. We have a new carpet ha ha can't take that chance! I was more thinking about which is more cost effective. I really like the smell of house coal and (am I the only one?) I love watching the smoke come out of the chimney on cold day....if I've just put some fresh coal on I always go outside to watch the smoke pour out of the chimney We have a good deep hearth so that helps but even so the carpet has a few hot rock holes but that's what rugs are for hopefully I will be putting a oak floor down next ...I like the smell of coal also ...find the odd bonus to ...I won this bit of amber its
  10. Its not a bad deal for someone with no land to shoot. Its mainly OSR and unless you live near the fields then its pot luck turning up to find pigeons on them.

  17. Cheers chaps, was a good trip. Sat in a pub quaffing beer watching 3 otters fishing in the sea one afternoon......great spot.
  18. Well it was our anual trip up north so with truck packed with dogs and guns we headed off. Had an unintentional sightseeing trip round Glasgow in the wee hours as the satnav got us well and truly lost . Ended up going past Celtic park but eventually back on track and off again to catch the ferry. Great day as we hit the island and dumped the gear and off straight out. Plenty of woodcock in the usual spots and over 3 days we must have risen 100. It was pretty much full on shooting and drinking and more shooting and it soon took its toll. We were up early for morning tide flight and

  23. I would start feeding in august if you have the time and the water, plenty of articles on here about feeding flight ponds. Every one has the own opinion about what works best, think the key factor is consistency, if you start missing putting feed in then the duck will feck off somewhere else......I use barley and make sure you don't put it in too deep especially if you have teal visiting , a couple of inches depth is fine for them.....
