To the untrained eye like mine, how do you tell the difference between a Gos or sparrowhawk from the pic. You obviously saw the bird so got an idea of size....
Sorry Steve, had it in my head your username was fireman Sam, .........didn’t appreciate the hours and money spent.....you crack on killing them mate.....
A beggar I used to say hello to every morning sat near a flyover...……..bumped into him in a queue for a kebab in Ibiza, dressed up in some nice clothes with a tasty blond on his arm...….just smiled at me and said "alright mate" ?
Well its only Spars that will attack aviaries and Peregrine, Gos and the odd Spar that will take racing pigeon...….so think we should shoot them then mate ?
I cant see how there can be a second referendum after what has gone before. We would be the laughing stock of Europe (if not so already) and there would be fecking uproar of major proportions from vast sectors in this country that would lead to civil unrest...……….for 24 hours or so...…………...
I really don't think it matters. Certainly shooting at woodcock flighting out of woodland doesn't put off other woodcock coming out of the same spot seconds or minutes later. You only have maybe a 15 min window when they flight but it makes for exciting shooting. Try and pick a feature in the wood edge that will help funnel the birds out. Fire checks are great for it.
You not got a shooting mate that can help you out and feed it in daylight hours ?....otherwise only options are an auto feeder or go before work and hoof them off and feed then....
