we never get much here ever,,,been here 15 years and next to nothing,,,think its the trent vally in particular,,,,,
as a kid i grew up near ollerton,,,and we always had loads only 20 mile north...then moved to near manfield in between chesterfield and again loads there most winters
none here in the east midlands between nottingham and grantham,,,few flakes over night,,,looked a bit like frost,,,,but gone by 10 am,,,,same a week or two back , a light dusting for a few hours then gone,,,,
agreed she was only in her 40,s when they did the program....shows what a tuff life she had .....i had only looked up her name a few week back to see if she was still with us,,,and was suprised to see she was....intrestingly the farm she had now belongs to english nature or somthing similar..as the medows she had never had pestisides or anything on and theres loads of rare plants flowers ect.....what a loverly leggesy to leave....
all the lads that go out with him recon they are easy.....the bounce of them walled banks...watch the warreners film catching them with a fat russel cross whippet
the only reason the rabbits are easier to catch on the dales is the terrain,,,the tuffty ground ect......it has nothing to do with the rabbits being slower....and the sheer numbers that can be found in some spots...
im sure it was lee mcnally that wrote an article in the shooting times years ago....about witnessing a fight between a wild cat and an eagle...the eagle eventualy flew off with the cat....but then droped it from a hight....killing the cat....but later the eagle was found dead as well...died from injurys caused in the fight
