Not owned a microwave for years... Mind we just bought a brand new cooker...company that delivers it took the old one away...for free but I had to take it out and put it at the end of the drive for them...by Fecking jesus...looking at it in proper day lite outside...it was embaresing. ..i wrapped cardboard round it cos I didn't want the neighbours seeing it...- 67 replies

Yeh straight after I asked I looked in my atlas looked where the 58 line went through....used to holiday up that way as a kid but on the mainland...Poolewe. I rambert it being like that myself at midnight. Lovely pic by the way

Going to watch the sunset at Caffè del Mar. .mambo ect was a nightly thing.... Sunrise I couldn't see straight. .lol One year me and the Mrs lived above mambo...it was funny getting folk asking me as I got home 6/7 am what time and where the sun would come up over the ocean ....silly c**ts thought it came up where it went down....I used to reply...jump on a bus and go to the other side of the island. ...daft feckers

I've just Googled. ...around 15000...in Bristol London and Bristol. .most as you say in service in the big houses....some were paid ...some still slaves... We were one of the first countries to outlaw slavery 1820 ish..... -

There were small resident population of blacks living in Bristol Liverpool since the early 1800 wilf... Obviously not on the scale of the USA and our colonies. . -

I'm sure he could...it would work out more expensive though..even though he might get housing benefit. ..they don't pay it all..and I think there's now a ceiling limit

Wilf is pretty much on the money regarding what to do.....I worked in a housing shelter...OK I was security. ..but I got to witness first hand some of the goings on in there....the place I worked was a hostel type place....there was 36 separate flats in there ranging from 1 bed to 4 bed....family's and single folk ended up there when they were waiting to be housed by the council. ..the staff were basically social workers they were there to help folk get on the ladder ...help with everything from finding a place to live....to getting every bit of benefits. ...and very often grants and handouts
