  2. Well you obviously know what you are talking about, which is a refreshing change from some of the posts. Fen dogs cant jump? Posters want to check out Lucky clearing fences and gates running a Jack ,and killing hares on a golf course, something no "plodder" would do. Whenever this thread comes up ,it starts promisingly ,then a couple of agitators get into the act, including one who has been banned for just that.It then deteriorates into a "the hares around where I live are better than fen hares, fen dogs are slow plodders etc" .Seems most can't have a debate ,without a my p****s bigger than you
  3. You and me both Ive never had a dog that could get near them ,preban.
  4. That's a good way ,leaving it for a short time ,and gradually building up the length of absence.Radio 2 sometimes helps too.And ,if the music bothers your neighbours ,get the pup some head phones.

  6. I wonder how long it will be before this turns into a slagging match between daytime runners and lampers ,Joe?
  7. lol thats a slow dog bruv.a dog should be on the hares arse all the time turning it inside out Why? If the dog catches consistantly, it must be doing something right musn't it? Not all dogs have an up and at em style, some settle behind a jack and don't try for a strike ,till they are sure they will connect. You might prefer a dog that is "all over them ", but that doesn't mean to say other running styles are not productive.
  8. Too true mate... you do realise I was joking with the fen bit right? Fen dogs are plodders but since that's plodder country they do fine.... Give me a quick but something with stamina but most important a f*****g brain type of lurcher anytime.... Why do you assume that all fen dogs are plodders?
  9. Methinks you are after a wind up Mr Jones. Did you finish those holiday cottages MB?

  11. I think they are a bloody nuisance and take them off at 3 days old,if an older dog is going to have one off,I'd say get them both removed for the price of one anaesthetic.
  12. I will be there on Sunday, the lurcher and terrier show day.
  13. Brian Plummer admitted to obtaining some myxie rabbits for a Farmer who was in another area, he wiped out the rabbit population in that area for awhile.

  16. you know jack for a young fifteen year old you can certainly compose a good scrounging thread , your grammer is very good , spelling is excelent and for someone who has been given the "gifts" of speech and composure i find it incredible that you are just 15 and that you dont have a family to help you without having to put on good intentioned people of this forum . being from such a good background makes me wonder why you have to resort to asking people on this forum anything , jack ward i think your a fraud Well I don't know him ,but hopefully he can spell GRAMMAR.And EXCELLENT
  17. Magwitch and I were out today, same problem ,the ground was like concrete ,and the wind blew the poles down, its just started to tip down here ,hope it keeps it up! Your permission looks great! Have a good season. Inan.
  18. I will be there on the Sunday ,unfortunately I will be working, so I'll have to have a quick look around about 9am.
  19. its when the pup is to fast and powerfull for its frame to cope with pressures put on it as the pup runs and twists and turns ... nothing anybody can do unless you never allow the pup to run ............. Very bad luck, hope you get the best possible result with her.
  20. That looks a very handy little dog P,and obviously very determined! When are we getting the rain! See you at the show?
  21. ever thought you are buying a living thinking feeling animal and not a machine ??? it takes some dogs up to 2 months to settle down into new surroundings and feel happy and confident to hunt to their full potential ... if you want a trial on a dog then you should travell to the sellers place and get him to take you out with the dog ... that way you get to see exactly what the dog can and cannot do ............ That's the logical way ,see the dog in its own environment , working with its owner.
  22. See the other thread on cider ,if you havent tried it ,dare I say you should not knock it? Its in a 2 litre bottle by the way £ 1.21p.And I am usually a real ale drinker and very particular.I dont drink any can drinks

    Cider

Ive tried all these "single orchard ciders eg Westons ,cloudy scrumpy etc ,but recently bought a 2litre of Asda's own Dry Cider its about 4.5%,and retails for £1.21p for the 2 litres ,chuck a few cubes of ice with it and its very drinkable and not discernably inferior to the more up market brands.imo.
