  1. What a fabulous group of beautiful, workmanlike animals
  2. That seems a lifetime ago Greyman,..but, I do remember the guy with the big old jukels...lots of crazy characters around back then...? I was privileged to Judge lurchers at both The Welsh and The Midland shows,...massive turnout of dogs,..mostly owned by lads that worked their animals. The Judging had to be 'fair and square', you had to be 100% straight and honest,.. or a reception committee would be patiently waiting for you on the other side of the rope...? I've even had an unhappy punter leap the barrier and start throwing fists, over a Red Rosette. Great shows, great
  3. I would maybe start with a Rifle + Silencer,...note where they mostly run to,....then,..take things from there...?
  4. Smashing post there Neil just finishing off our wasp season, then I'll be out after some rabbits, high up on the South Downs, armed with a good ole ferret and my wee cur...?
  5. The hard blood, race whippet influence...combined with that smidgeon of Kelpie,..will often raise the ears...
  6. Whilst it may seem a more humane option,... I personally believe, that cage trapped critters are far better served with a quick clean end, rather than releasing them into an unfamiliar area. I feel that it is our responsibility to, take care of business, rather than force a captured animal to try and adapt,..quickly,...to an often hostile environment... But, I could well be wrong...?
  7. ? That was a very poor clip,..it embodied everything that is foolish and amateurish...the quarry deserves better......depressing really...?
  8. I most certainly will,... I know my place in the pecking order...?
  9. When you have talked the talk and secured a profitable rabbiting job,.you had best have the tools, to walk the walk... Reliable (and capable) working ferrets are essential...?
  10. Some reet good breeding there...?
  11. My dogs are only companion/mouchers, but they definitely enjoy a bit of raw green tripe with their lamb ribs.?
  12. That would do just fine for my gang...?
  13. Me and the wee dogs know our place,..we keep, well away from them fierce old things...
  14. I only mouch about, hunting the odd shushi, here and there, so my needs are simple,..however, I prefer to create my lurchers from the various Pastoral Breeds.?
  15. If a man fancies a robust wee Mouching jukel,..a Labrador /Running dog hybrid will certainly fit the bill. There are loads of good honest working Labs around,..they don't have to be Field Trial Standard, to go across a Greyhound or a Grew,... I like a nice bold, forward going hunting type,...(I actually prefer my cur crosses), but, I've been out with some superb Lab lurchers,..great fun...? Thistle...
  16. Cracking old-time jukels,... I've no work for one nowadays, but, I'll never forget my dear old pals...?
  17. ? Feck this ole freelancing lark, it sounds to be a right dangerous business
  18. Yes ? The non-ped race whippets are amazing animals, carefully line bred, for a purpose... Dottie, Sired by Supreme Racing Champion Country Music....out of Speckle...?
  19. Carl phoned me a while back,..he was after a Collie lurcher puppy...
  20. Those types are lethal when working the hedgerow warrens, in conjunction with the nets and ferrets... Many of the local rabbiting lads use them... I prefer to hybridize these quicksilver critters, with sheepdog, blooded animals, but that's just my personal preference...?
  21. That last picture is perfect,..be great on the wall
  22. They sound great for Mouching around, after the rabbits,...just ordered a pair of Moss Green Trousers ... Many thanks for the heads up lads...
