Not citing you W.Katchum, just talking in general fellah,...just something I've noticed over the years,...its a free country, folk can do and say what they like...? I'm just an old man,...with an old man's opinions...?
-
? I've seen this on a lot of these Hunting type forums,...lads bad mouthing other fellahs jukels... Such opinions are best kept private between enthusiasts, as opposed to being broadcast on the Internet to all and sundry,..simply to cause offense or score Brownie points. ? Whatever happened to the universal (unwritten) rule, that you don't slag off another man's dog, or his Family...? I'll add another, in the hopes that a hunting forum can stick to hunting chat, and leave personal asides, to one side..."What happens on the Warren, fecking stays on the Warren".?

Was chatting to a keen fellah t'other day,...he had purchased an exceptional coursing Greyhound bitch from Ireland... She was not cheap,...? His next stop was to secure the services of a top-class battle dog, via Croatia,...obviously a serious kinda lurcher enthusiast... I suppose, if that is what you want, ya might as well go full on to establish a good starting point for a future line... Good luck to him,.it is a long old project,... but, that will to win, often secures a victory...?

Possibly nearer to one of the reasons for this stalking business,... than you will ever know Allan...?

Some dogs, (whatever their type ) can be a wee bit too hot...they go at the game, like a bull in a china shop.? They sometimes need slowing down a tad,...I always school a lurcher, to show some patience...when required...?
-
? We had several beardie coated pups, out of our Border sheepdogs and Cattle Dogs,...I think folk sometimes forget the salient word with this particular canine,..it is a Collie...? Herding dogs need to be of sound temperament, it pays to thoroughly research their suitability, before any lurcher breeding project is undertaken, or it can definitely get emotional...

? Nothing to do with being a hater,...everyone is entitled to an opinion,..in fact, it is welcomed by all genuine enthusiasts. I think the original poster was simply asking a question,...whereas, sensible debate and discussion, are essential elements in the creation of an improved type of hunting dog... What was available, back in the day, definitely played an integral part in the style of canine that many of us had to run,..nowadays, the choice of breed type is far wider...?

Fashion often dictates the flavor of lurcher hybrid, I've seen them all, come and go over the years... A personal favorite of mine was the Deerhound/Greyhound/Sheepdog combo,... I bred a fair few and enjoyed hunting with them immensely.

No Kelpie in those dogs...

For me,..the Ultimate Herding Canine

So sorry to hear that terrible news Geth... When I had a walk out with Blue, it was obvious that he was going to be a superb working dog... Always happens to the best jukels,...in fact, over the years, I cannot ever remember losing, a non-achiever,..it always seems to be the good'un's that cop it. Yours was a terrible waste, and as you so rightly say an unnecessary, wasteful thing... Bad luck to the glass breaking c^nts?

Elm wood mole trap (& a dearth of rabbits)
Phil Lloyd replied to earth-thrower's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
When it comes to trapping, I have always followed the ancient adage to,.. 'Keep it Simple'...Stupid ? -
Fellah, I think you are on the wind-up,...nobody is as fecking foolish as you portray yourself...? You want a dog for an eight-year-old, for Christmas...but, you want it 'cheap as chips'...coz you have expenses..kids' bills', etc...? Most of us who breed, work dogs are only too willing to gift our surplus pups to genuine good, permanent, knowledgeable homes. Your posts, do not fill anyone with confidence that you would be a suitable candidate, for a good honest jukel.. Why not forget dogs, just get the kid an X box or some other toy,...a dog is a living, breathing critter

When an individual is 100% guilty,..proven beyond a doubt,..no chance of a miscarriage of justice, but 100 %, it was him, kinda thing...then,..he should be dispatched... As for the sensitive souls who say, "That's ok,.but would you be prepared to do it yourself"? I can only say,.yes,...easy peasy,...I've killed bigger animals,... it is not a problem,...one cruel b*****d, done and dusted, move on...

Was working on a Partridge shoot Saturday,..it was raining real heavy, fecking torrential, so I thought it was time to try out my Paramo Pajero jacket. All morning I was dry as a bone, great hood, totally breathable and completely waterproof.....then the shit hit the fan.? The keepers requested that I take my wee cur into a massive fenced plantation, several acres of dense bramble, to encourage some Muntjac deer to leave. I'm always up for such jobs, but within moments, I felt the sting of inch thick brambles clinging to me... Now, considering the price of a Paramo,...and i

Good to see you, lads, really enjoying your rabbiting....great memories...

Had some great times with whippets...in fact, for quite a few years, locally, that was the only dog lads used, it seemed as though everyone had a fecking whippet! The deer job changed things for us,..but nothing much beats a good, keen whippet, for roustabout rabbiting...? Even today, my collie types are strongly influenced by whippet blood,...it seems to produce a fast takeoff speed, and quicksilver reflexes,.. in truth, that ten-yard dash is sometimes all ya get.

Gorgeous, well-taken images, of fabulous, happy, contented looking, plump and juicy pups...

A nice strong pair of jukels,...just my type...

can you work a whippet with pheasants?
Phil Lloyd replied to Dog lover62's topic in Hunting With Hounds
? It can be done, but once a dog has been schooled in other disciplines, it does get a bit confusing for them... -
Bred quite a few of they Silvers,...so many great nights on the Roe with them,... Lovely jubbly ?

That rapist fecker should have had his throat slit,...verminous waste of oxygen...?
