  1. Had a brief chat to a few of the Aces boys yesterday...real sensible lads and ultra-keen to promote everything that is unique and good about the fabulous Bull Bloods...I wish them great success for the future of this exciting breed... All the best, CHALKWARREN...
  2. Sounds an interesting and worthwhile project.
  3. Well done that man,...nice to see credit given... Netrigger is a Goodfellah,...his gear is first class and he has helped me out on many occasions... Long may he prosper... All the best, Chalkwarren.... www.chalkwarren.co.uk
  4. Ferrets have always drawn the short straw,...it is amazing how some folk treat their pugs... The facts are,...'Nowadays,..too many ferrets are being bred'...... I remember after the original myxy plague, when guys dumped their ferrets, cos there was feck all to hunt and then,..when the conies started to return in numbers,..ferrets were suddenly like gold dust,..much valued,.. and definitely not for sale... Good old critters,...I OWE them so much..... All the best, Chalkwarren.. www.chalkwarren.co.uk
  5. Good news about your wee chavie Andy,... When your babies are unwell, don't it put matters, into perspective... All the best, PL.
  6. Good to hear that fellah... I see a poor old jukel sleeping on some boards, on a chain, under a mobile home the other day... Perhaps I should have minded me own business,..I usually do,...but, ..I just felt I had to say something... Such an action invariably back fires, and can get emotional,.with me generally ending up on me arse.. However, I had a victory with these guys, and as I passed by checking me mole and rabbit traps, I noticed a wee box , stuffed full of shredded paper, had now been provided... The jukel, a Saluki type , was tucked up nice and snug, with his head poking out
  7. For me, it would be like watching 'paint dry'....
  8. 4z can often be the Daddy,..but,.ya gotta work with it,.never against it....
  9. Dogs are like men,.some get hit and stay down,.and some, get right back up again....
  10. Tremendous,...real good post,.right up my street....
  11. Cracking image of frost on that wire fence... And how nice to see your jukel, rugged up, after a days exertion... Good on ya,.... All the best,..CW..
  12. I would agree with Andy ,..a Hunting Forum, is a pretty dull place without, loads of 'days out + night's out' threads and accompanying photos Not every lad, can experience such fabulous areas to hunt over, and to be honest, when they see big bags and large catches of game, this is possibly the nearest that they will ever come to it...So, if only for them,..posting pics is worthwhile. As for Moll and her Crew... Well,..she obviously enjoys herself, and so do all the guys, and their miscellaneous jukels are a treat to behold...As far as I am concerned, they can run as many dogs as they
  13. Nice post... Its always the same when taking out young'un's,...especialy if they get stung by nettles But worth it in the end...
  14. I thought they said, "Come along to the Disco,.not a fecking Demo"..... www.chalkwarren.co.uk
  15. The Editor of this magazine, has always been a good pal to me, and I am amazed, that he still manages to keep it going It must be a colossal task to come up with the goods, each month, year in, year out... As a running dog enthusiast, I would like to see more articles and stories about the jukels, but the fellow can only print what he is given. I don't know what the answer is,...but, it would be a great shame if the magazine were to fade away... There was a time ,.long ago,..when ED&RD was the only voice of truth and freedom that the lurcher and terrierman had and for tha
  16. Nice warm image of the three Brindles.. www.chalkwarren.co.uk
  17. Cannot talk of genuine coursing stars or vulpine crunchers, just roustabout curs, but, I believe to produce a realy good hunting dog, you have to be its equal, both in intensity, determination and prey drive. There has always been talk of 'dogs from the past',..and I think therein, lies the answer.. Keen young men make outstanding work dogs,...cos, they both have the hunger.... I once had a good dog,..but, it was a lifetime ago, ... nowadays, I would not be worthy of one... And that is the truth.... www.chalkwarren.co.uk
  18. Think Chalks might know a bit, might have written about the dog too. That would be intresting saw its litter brother run hares a few times in the 80s Celt was a nice enough critter,..big, strong,..I saw him run a hare and a few dozen rabbits.. A typical Three Quarter bred Greyhound/Collie,...good pace, a phenomenal jumper,...well written about in various early lurcher books... Not much else to say really... .
