Digging Dogs. Figure/ornaments
neil cooney replied to resistance's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Never seen that one of the netted fox before, it's unusual. Any chance of a pic of it from a different angle ?Don't have many ornaments but the walls are covered in prints, horse brasses of dogs and gamefowl etc. but do have a nice one of a fox carved from a single piece of coal. Any Chance of a pic of the coal fox Neil. Sorry but I've no way of putting up pics. Someone in the North of England did it and it's very well done. It's a fox sitting upright on a rock all carved from one lump of coal. -

Well, for starters he can't deny it now as he's been caught, red handed, 100% guilty, in the process of setting up another terrier to be stolen. So those of you who've stood up for Rob "The Dog" Booth should hang your heads in shame, or keep supporting the robbing of terriers. -
Calvin and Nelson ? Is he calling out a gay couple ? "Come on down here Calvin, because I don't ever want to see you again ." ??? LOL, has to be a piss take.

Well at least we agree on one thing Fatman, ye are all ugly b*****ds, LOL. And you didn't split from us. There used to be a 5th Provence in Ireland, Meath. And we f****d you's out. But, have to admit, there is a few useful terriers down your end of Westmeath. -
Pelts ? yes A good one was making 20 euro last year (to Sweden) so what's expected this year, and why the Chinese market ?

Well you learn something new every day. Mr Hinks was from Mullingar, County Westmeath. A place that still produces ugly sonsabitches to this day, LOL. So does that make the EBT an Irish breed, not that we'd want claim to the cur (although it might make the Cork boys a bit happier.) ? -
I wonder why the wild dog didn't kill it first. I know, that long before the ban, my own lurchers, having tripped larger game, always went straight to the throat to suffocate the animal. Or is it the case, in pack animals like African Wild Dogs, where they are used to being on a kill in large numbers, it is important to get quickly into the softer underbelly to claim their share. Late to the feast, through being on the throat, means the easy to get at meat has gone. Forget trying to kill it, it will die soon enough anyway through shock and blood loss. Just wondering. For the very same reason a

When you think of it with their ability to breed so often and with large populations which has to lead to inbreeding it's surprising there's not more mutations in the brown rat ? I've never seen one. With cannibalism quiet common in rats maybe freaks don't even get to leave the nest ?

He told me the same.

I know this was put up recently but this lad has a great voice and I used to hunt with him and his father.

My favourite sporting song here, and once again we kicked the English arses. LOL.

Watching that makes ye think that maybe not all of Ireland has changed much in 40 years. What you see there on that video still goes on all over Ireland in that same fashion every weekend for 6 months of the year. Both the hunting and the sessions afterwards, and long may it continue. Thanks for putting that up Stonewall, maybe Ireland is not f****d ,just yet.

I believe the great rivers of Sea trout rivers of Argentina were stocked from English brown trout. A guy imported brown trout a long time ago as he was missing his brown trout fishing, these fish then went to sea to start the legendery sea trout run off. A mate of mine goes over there, one night he had fish of 14 18 and 20lb, he says 5lb fish are small over there, bloody amazing. Can anyone back this up, just what i was told anyway, ATB. Seen a fishing program made in Patagonia and the Sea Trout were into the mid 20s and they were taking them on the dry using grasshopper imitations and th

Seem handy enough but mightn't add anything that a greyhound wouldn't. -
1 nice tench isn't bad for a short session. Hope he gave a good battle. Haven't fished for tench for a few years due to turning up at old favourite lakes and finding lads using hair rigs etc. for them. It's getting too much like England over here for coarse fishing. A nice quiet canal just might be the next place I'll catch a tench.

Not jumping on any band wagon as I've no problem with bull in terriers, just those who think they know where it is ,when it isn't ,LOL. 17 years is a long time in most family of terriers and any blood added back then is not something I'd be blaming on a current problem. But, it's you that has the family of terriers, not me, but in anyones lines I'd find it hard to believe that bull blood would introduce wind issues.

He's back walking with Compo now, RIP.
-
Bull, what sort of bull are you talking about there ? I couldn't think of a type of dog that wind is wanted more than a true bull type. If someone is using something like an English Bull ,which has never been bred for wind, then I'd have no sympathy but if someone breeds bull into their terriers from a good honest line of bull types then lack of wind should NOT be blamed on the bull blood side of things IMO. Some lines of bulldogs have more wind than others but they all have plenty of it. The only time in bulldogs I've ever seen one have the symptoms that Ratface has described is when one h

This evening should be perfect for tench on a canal. No sun and after the rain a bit of colour. Good luck.
