  1. Couldn't help thinking he was a bit too care free swinging that mattock but maybe it wasn't a million dollar piece of bloodstock . LOL.
  2. Maybe that where I've been going wrong all these years. I've been backing horses that run like terriers and digging to terriers that work underground like a horse, LOL.
  3. I'd say expensive Cuban cigars, it's the folk who give him the cash that are as high as kites.
  4. I knew that's what you meant Adam and I'm as puzzled as you . It looks a new born tho very strange Hey Adam, if you ever get a call out like that keep us informed ,
  5. do agree wedge And along comes Saucy, a lad who uses as his profile pic a great dog and yet the week he joined The Hunting Life was coincidentally the same week that Mountain Man passed away and when I mentioned that Homers owner had died he said "WHO ???" A couple of years later and it seems your knowledge of the dog game hasn't risen 1 percent Saucy.

  7. There's a river a quarter of a mile from my house with plenty of mud along the banks but the Swallow this morning landed beside my lurcher and was trying to get some piss off the concrete into it's beak. IMO it was desperate and maybe Swallows keep a small territory ???
  8. Good ol' Wedgey, a chap who calls himself after something that entails his underpants shooved right up into his ass, a chap who put up pics of his terriers on a thread asking to show Jack Russells even though they're not even closely related to Jack Russells (but maybe the messer who gave them to him said they were.) and also a chap who I suspect would make the fellow in his profile pic seem intellingent. Regarding do I ever go out ? I'd say Wedgey that by 9 o clock this morning I had more pest control done than you'd achieve in a whole year.
  9. https://www.(!64.56:886/1033257850102423/videos/1340498402711698/ I hate it when it's not the intended quarry.
  10. With this unseasonably dry spell has anyone noticed Swallows struggling to find mud ? I seen one a few days ago looking down a roadside shore and today I seen one with a bit of straw in it's beak try to pick up some dog piss 3 foot from my stretched out lurcher. That's a bird under pressure. I put out a shallow tray of mud (made it myself LOL) and they came to it straight away.
  11. Yes of course, digging badger when season's closed is forbidden. You can be prosecuted. Pay a fine and withdrawal of hunting license. Some have been caught. I remember a young master, he was beginning. He'd been asked for digging foxes in march. During the dig, they found a badger. The farmer wanted to kill it, they did it. Infortunately, they were under surveillance. The next day, some rural police came to dig in the same place in order to control. Badger had been found. This young master will never ever hunt. Yes of course, digging badger when season's closed is forbidden. You ca
  12. Thanks for a great thread Blaise . Just out of interest, if , in France you were caught digging badgers out of season would you be punished by law ? Has anyone ever been caught ?
  13. Good job you're keeping that one to your self and not being silly enough to put it on something like the WWW.
  14. PROBABLY NOT HEALTHY ????? That's the grub that 50 generations of we Irish were reared on and it done us no harm. In fact, the only thing that stopped us taking over the world was the drink.
  15. I've a funny feeling that's what all the drug mules tell themselves too.
  16. Come and get a fly fishing lesson, it's by far the "nicest" way of fishing. I'll do mates rates for ya . You can then have a look at my dangerous dogs . Thanks for the offer Might take you up on that August/September time lee ? Not for the fly fishing though that's just not me haha be nice to have a walk out and see how dangerous your dogs are to the local bunny population more than owt lol If trout are your thing then you really should give it a try. The end reward is well worth it and don't believe the rubbish that they'll take other methods quicker than the fly. Some times the f

  18. Very surprised that you never heard of back breeding as its used with the dedicated breeders Superior dog and bitch are bred a female pup is kept --- breed this female to her father -- keep a female pup then breed her to her father -- and so on always using the original sire . Takes years to produce the desired goal . It's another name for line breeding so. The very first inbred line I ever encountered was a line of excellent Jack Russell where the stud covered his own daughter, grand daughter, then gr. grand daughter and so on. It sounds too Plummerish to me when folk talk ab
  19. Never heard of a breeding method called Back Breeding , explain it please ?
  20. Bait choice mightn't be your problem , it might be presentation in the gin clear water you describe. In such water it's near impossible to hide line and hooks.
