nice dog that, most bulldogs are friendly to people, and not what you call guard breed. But when they do decide to guard , with there drive /power /jaw they take hell of alot of stopping , seen a 36lb bitch who was bit like the above freindly , but if you went into his yard with out the owner , she would have you and , you be in trouble deff , great dogs in the right hands That's the thing, you could take on a Pit Bull puppy as a guard dog and end up with a dog that could lick you to death but be bad with the dogs you want him to guard. Most bulldogs are people dogs too bu

Funniest thing I ever did with some roadkill was put a dead Woodpigeon in the glove compartment of the tipper lorry on the site we were on. I thought the driver would get a bit of a fright and throw it out the window but I'd forgotten we were closing up for the 3 weeks of the Summer holidays. Some smell and a lot of bluebottles when we returned. I never confessed.

It was aimed at P3D who seems to think a pet rat in a cage is the same as a

Exactly the way any practical terrierman would be thinking IMO .

Beef Greaves - Moongold Etc
neil cooney replied to Dead Eyes's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Greaves or anything that's processed ,so to speak ,all depends on who makes it and what flesh he has at his disposal. I used to get it and my dogs thrived on it and worked hard on it without loosing condition and I suspect because of the smell and colour of it I think it had plenty of tripe in it. But if the maker is bulking it up with fat or plucks then of course it's going to show in a dogs condition. -
All nice and good to think you might have another species to hunt. Years ago when an alien species tried to get a foothold the hunting / country man would be the one asked to sort the problem out. But in this day and age when a foreign species appears it's usually followed by pen pushers with degrees in wildlife management to sort out the problem. And you don't want them type on your doorstep.

Also if I may add. Putting coke in to whiskey is something I thought only women did, or men who have a girly touch to them.
-
Putting coke into Whiskey Pabs is as bad as putting Bull into a line of black terriers. It's only done by those who don't appreciate a fine whiskey.

Brandy ???? Oh la de da. Excuse me but what's wrong with good Irish Whiskey or better still a drop of the Cratur ?

I've known bull blood put into lines of white terriers because not only was gameness lacking but physically they needed it. Staff blood added jaw and straight (or at least straighter) legs to an inbred line of Russells or such. In the couple of instances where I know for 100% percent that bull was added to Fell lines it was nearly always because the breeder was to proud (or stuck up) to ask another Fell breeder for an outcross. What did it add to that line ? Fresh blood is your answer. Nothing more, nothing less. Here in Ireland the Fell lines started to appear around the same time as the
