Boxing doesnt change through the years a man is still a man and a fight is still a fight but what has changed massively is the way boxing is marketed i truly believe theres things sports fans shouldnt know and theres just too much info available these days whether its through social media or all these silly interviews that are done.....its great to have clarity but you talk to so called boxing fans these days and many of them dont know anything about boxing as a sport or what takes place between the ropes.......it always tickles me when you hear fans talk about " the casual fans ".....whats a

Would the desicion not rest with the fighter/trainer in the end? If you can see that AJ still needs a bit time and is a bit raw with things I'm sure his trainers will see this also. Would that be classed as bad management if he was to loose the fight.? Ultimately the decision rests with his management......and who is that....oh yes himself !.....sadly these days old fashioned boxing education is replaced by management companies representing a fighters sporting and commercial needs....." leeches " in mine and your language......Eddie Hearn is a boxing promoter he doesnt care about the care

Ive always felt Mike Tyson was the most overated fighter theres ever been.......but i think he would of made a mess of David Haye............Haye v Holyfield now theres a fight i would love to have watched.....2 hard hitting highly technical heavyweight athletes id fancy Holyfield to out guts Haye in a long exciting fight.

I think this is the wrong move for Joshua, its refreshing in some ways that he has the " its just a fight " attitude rather than holding him back years for the right time but as an individual fight i just dont think 8 weeks preparation for a tall hard hitting southpaw is long enough......Joshua is a big raw kid with faults that need time to iron out, even if he wins you cant then go back to domestic level so will them faults ever be addressed........its a sign of the times sadly where the promoter has more weight than the fighter and trainer combined.

Comfy for now yes......secure for life no. Well put Gnash.Any news up your neck of the woods if he will be staying in the sport, bit early to ask that question. He would have some knowledge to pass down to future fighters. Would also keep him on the straight and narrow the cockney sparrow. He,s applied for his trainers licence but then a lot of lads do when they retire its sometimes just a way of staying in the gym .....he did his bike test and bought one of these f****n ridiculous looking Harley Davidson things after his last fight so if he stays alive long enough to get a trainers

I wondered if he thought that all words start with a capital.......i didnt like to pull him up as my grammar aint none too clever and he seemed like he was having such fun

12 hour shifts scaffolding is that allowed with todays safety obsessed working conditions..........i spent a few months doing that as a teenager it nearly broke my back bollocks to 12 hour shifts of it.

Hopefully its not a couple of fights too late.....time will tell. Gave it a good crack but didnt quite get there......thats sport for the vast majority of us im afraid.......time to move on.

So I'm right, thought so. It's not hard to fathom he was on them in that fight where the gypsy nutted him. Lennie took that days version of Clenbuterol for weight loss a few times.....beyond that i would be 99% sure in saying he never did a bulk cycle,ever....he wouldnt of known how to i remember the old agent Alex Steene pulling up outside the Beckett and The Peacock,The Henry Cooper all the big gyms regularly and selling gear out the back of his motor nobody really knew what they was buying or even how to take it the understanding of cycling gear just wasnt around boxing gyms at that time.
-
Probably.....but he would of come a damn sight closer to beating him that Pacquiao did................ whether Khan had the ability to beat Mayweather im not sure but he definately had the style to.

Ive always loved that line.......and so true. Bless your heart Walshie.....bollocks to all the macho shit its refreshing sometimes to hear the affection that a pure friendship brings.

I remember seeing Khan fight for the first time and thought he was one of the most balanced young boxers I had seen and I have alway rated him in fact I would go as far to say and have said it for a long time he has the style to beat may weather But I think he would struggle with pacquiao ....just my opinion Couldnt agree more Mik......i remember people laughing at me for saying he would become a world champion.....they said with a chin like that he wouldnt go nowhere.....like yourself probably,i was sitting patiently waiting for what odds the bookies would have him to beat Mayweather !

Im probably guilty of burying my head in the sand but i just cant read these type of articles its bad for the blood pressure !

Thats a fair shout......bit of a quiet man Scott as i remember so not sure he could muster up the type of fire and energy Lennie had.....but then im not sure anyone could.

I dont think theres any actor around today that could play the part and do it justice, the closest ive seen who used to get a mention was Craig Fairbrass simply because he had the size,he was from the manor and seeing him in other films he had a bit of menace to him........the wrong casting could be hilarious !

I never saw anyone even come close to handling Lennie on doors,he would always get lads trying to make a name for themself but most times a simple growl or stare was enough......he was 10 or 12 years older than me so i never saw him fight on the cobbles in his prime but saw him several times over Wanstead Flats and a couple of times in fights out the back of his cousins yard and it was never pleasant to watch i suppose 2 or 3 minutes was as much as most people could take before either being ironed out or saying enough. As for steroids he wouldnt of known what to do with them he just had a

No idea mate i dont really know who he is or anything about him to be honest. As for the lads talking about Lennies fights with Roy Shaw thats where you can gauge Lennies level with gloves on as Roy Shaw was a good little welterweight back in his earlier years........outside of a boxing ring Lennie would of made a mess of him in short order.
-
i reckon you'd take him kenfu, all camoed up he wouldn't stand a chance lololol, who da feck does gnasher not know? I know hardly anyone north of Watford but folk in the same game in the same area its hard not to know.......is it my fault the area has had so much fighting talent
-
Wouldnt say i knew him personally he was a different generation from me i just spent a few years with a silly dickie bow wrapped round my neck talking bollocks with him a few nights a week.....most half decent heavyweight pros would of dealt with Lennie quite comfortably as he simply wasnt a boxer i dont think he ever threw a jab in his life he thought the jab was pointless..... he fought with far too much rage and aggression to be a boxer and just wasnt dedicated enough he was an old school hard man who loved a tear up he didnt like running and training he would spar himself into condition wh

Like most people i thought they would of fallen by the wayside by now but on that performance yesterday their fans would have to be dissapointed if they didnt get at least a champions league spot,i still cant see them winning the league but its been a remarkable season for them and as has been said playing football the right way as well.

Good post that i agree Mexicans seem to have that durability and ruggedness you dont often see athletically gifted Mexican fighters i think their culture demands machismo in preference to skill sets.....i remember the late great Salvador Sanchez as brilliant as he was he wasnt as popular as fighters like Chavez or Ruben Olivares simply because he wasnt as physically tough as they were.
