You need a sence of humor transplant gnash Not at all ive enjoyed watching a lot of comedians over the years.......i just dont find swear words and outrageousness particularly funny, that schoolboy humour doesnt really do it for me.
-
Much as ive tried i just cant find anything funny about the geezer at all.
-
Ive never been able to get that interested in much below lightweight but Naz was just one of those naturally destructive punchers.....apart from that i dont know that much about him in all honesty.
-
In all fairness mate lifting rocks up every day is no real comparison to getting punched in the head every day Do pro boxers spar everyday ? It was a figure of speech....but im sure you understand what im getting at

The first pay per view fight was The Thriller in Manilla 1975......if im not wrong the first Uk pay per view was Tyson v Bruno in 96.....even though Naz was the biggest name...............love him or hate him he was a British boxing sensation.

I would have said the majority of the posts on here were very positive toward Frank but, no different to any other celebrity, if you put yourself out there then dont expect an easy ride... It goes with the job. In fairness to ol Frank he didnt put himself out there he had national newspapers and media crews camped outside his house over what were very personal health issues.......ok he has since been led down that path but he,s never been a media whore like some of these " celebrities ".
-
Just shows he did right all along holding out for such a big fight......of course he,s going to chase the big money fights he,s a big name fighter.....a choice between a huge worldwide event against Alvarez and a big domestic fight with Brook is a no brainer.......should catchweight fights like this be made at all....no not in my opinion.....will Khan beat him....no not in my opinion the size difference will be far too much........whether or not Khan is a nice young man who really cares he,s a fighter not our friend.

There is more chance of Frank Spencer competing in a pro boxing ring than Frank Bruno

I wouldnt say i know him particularly well he,s only a kid 21/22 i knew his brother Mark well from years back he just missed out on a British title...or uncle/cousin was it i forget now they are a big travelling family he,s a good boxer though Tom and he,s in good hands so as you say hopefully he,ll do well.....he made the same cardinal sin i made as an amateur by going from West Ham to Repton it was a hanging offence years ago but they seem to get away with it now. He was a good fighter Paul and will have the same education of the game i had....its the same as anything folk whos educati

Im pretty sure in the side roads around Waterloo theres no restrictions after 1pm on a saturday and none at all on a sunday so you could park for free just as long as you can find a space.......i cant remember who it is now but theres a black cabbie on here he,ll be able to tell you.

I wouldnt say sponsor is the right word Peter....i know how hard it is to be a young pro people tend to think its a glamourous life where you train, fight then have an interview before driving home in a flash car but the reality is the life of a young fighter is a terribly lonely existence full of worry and doubt.....most pros still have to do a day job as they simply dont earn enough when they first come into the pro game but still have all the expenses of travel/diet/time off work etc....can any young fighter really dedicate themself in the right way when he,s doing 8 - 5 in a sausage factory

Stone me is it comic relief day again already !
-
Those 4 names combined probably have over 50 years of professional experience between them.....Joshua has 2 ! Its easy to get carried away judging fighters.
-
west mersea and yeah its opposite the victory pub which also does a nice bit of food Thats it there used to be a load of sheds there i remember.......im told theres now one called The Blue Oyster bar .......which doesnt sound good to me !
-
Having had bulldogs years ago ive never seen another breed run a mill with the same intensity.... i realise ive probably never been around the calibre of lurchers some of you lads have but they always look a bit half hearted running them to me.....we would always use an electric mill for maintenance work and a free running slat mill for conditioning i would imagine an electric mill would be fine to keep a lurcher ticking over but to get them in top shape you would want him out in the field surely ?
-
I dont argue with folk Pete its just the way i talk we all see things different and thats ok....i live a leisurely life these days plenty of time to kill and im a bit of a chatterbox so can end up spending hours talking to folk in gyms and we never have a crossed word its only when i get on here and natter to people who have probably never been in a gym let alone in a ring that the shit starts to fly but thats how it is some people get their boxing education from having a can of lager in one hand and a book in the other, when they get really frantic and need 2 hands to type they just rest the

Is this in East or West Mersea ? if its West is it opposite a pub called The Victory ?...stretching the memory bank now but i used to knock a little bird off who lived there over by the caravan site it was quite a nice place from what i remember ....havent been there in over 20 years but it didnt seem the sort of place that would change very much. Nice looking bit of grub anyway.

My brother was the talk of our estate when he had an accident and had to have a load of stitches down his face that resulted in a 4 inch action man scar.....he wore it with such pride !......we used to fight over the 1 action man we had he would do silly things like create battle scenes using the carpet sweeper as a tank whereas i would tie the handles of a carrier bag to his arms and hurl him off the balcony 10 floors up ( the action man that is )........then make our sister go and get it,funny days.

It could be anything surely ?.....until its full grown it would just be pure guesswork it could look completely different in a years time.
-
What a good honest scrap that was it was a shame he missed the count as he now has a stoppage on his record as opposed to a decision loss but it was a very entertaining fight fought in great spirit between friends which itself is not an easy thing to do.......real good night of boxing all the local lads had good displays it will be a great boxing venue over the coming years. Yeah, I understand that bit. My question is why? Age is irrelevant its experience that counts.......like any new pro it takes a while to get rid of the amateur traits.......new pros dont do hard sparring any
-
That sounds very gay .......... oi its a well used saying round here......anyway i keep getting told i need to work on my feminine side but im finding it a fine line between gentle and camp......i suppose i could always have a nice pretty Cheryl Cole tattoo on my hand that will do the trick

Likewise sir ive clocked a few of your posts and dont know if you are an old name returning or a new name adding your thoughts but we seem to park our cars in the same garage as they say.

I totally agree....its one of the reasons im not a big fan of amateur boxing.....the ultimate prize in an amateur sport with no financial reward is huge earning potential !.... how can that be right. Personally i lose a bit of interest in fighters when they become too popular as they start to focus as much on their image as their fighting ability.......tomorrow night is the type of cracking little show i like, some good hungry local lads out of local gyms at a nice local venue just out chasing their dreams. Skysports 2 from 7.30pm.....John Ryder.....Tommy Martin/Johnny Hibbert should be

For a young lad who apparently doesnt know anything about boxing you have called that a lot better than most of the people on here trying to pull him up on his technique without having the nous to realise that when emotion comes into a fighters mindset technique go,s out the window......good for you young chap. Joshua fought a very good fight in stages against a very capable fighter who was unbeaten....he had a scare and came through it to knock the guy out....thats all great......the big mistake he made which he has to make sure he never allows himself to do again is fight off of emotion.
