  1. And it's not just pest control, my business has been hard hit by people on face book offering less than a quarter of what I charge. Right winds me up, but as you say nothing that can be done about it. TC
  2. For someone who enjoys using big words, are Noobs and Perms what an erudite person would use? That is my favourite bug bare, people who cannot be bothered to type a word out correctly, tantamount to text talk in my honest opinion. I do not mind acronyms but shortening words to gibberish just because people are too lazy to type them correctly is a big no no. TC
  3. Pulling the meshes tight to close a hole is self defeating, as you are loosing the slack in the net. say you have a vertical rip in the net and a big gaping hole just run a piece or rigging twine through the edge meshes each side of the hole tie it in on the foot line lace it up through the meshes and tie it off on the head line. The secret is do not pull the twine too tight the slacker the better in most cases say you have a seal hole where the seal has bit a fish out of the net, just run a lace around the edge of the hole without pulling the meshes too tight. start where you want and end
  4. Yes just rough lace the holes that is all we used to do, and you will be surprised the amount of fish you catch in the slack netting around holes. TC

  8. My boy brought me a bottle of Welsh farmhouse cider yesterday, it looks disgusting, cloudy dish water, but tastes quite nice. Hell of a kick with it though at 9%. TC
  9. Personally I like a Claret, Merlot or a Cabernet Sauvignon. But half the fun of drinking wine is finding the ones you like. Try them all and stick to the ones you like best. TC

  16. Just have a read through the long netting section everything you need to know is there and in more detail than you would get in a dvd. There is even a video of how to shoot and pick up a quick set net. TC
  17. Terry if you cut the fruit baring stalks off the black current bushes, strip them then put in a bucket of water they will root and are viable but will take 2 years to fruit. They fruit on second year growth so should be pruned out after the second year to allow room for this years growth to fruit next year. keeps the bushes compact and gives a better crop the next year. Another tip I was given for fruit trees when preparing a bed for them fill the bottom of the bed with feathers, they break down very slowly and release nitrogen over a period of years. TC

  23. Since I made that post I have researched the body cavity injection. To my mind it is not an acceptable practice for euthanasia, unless the animal is anaesthetised first. If the animal is rendered unconscious then is injected in the one of the vital blood carrying organs, I do not have a problem with it. I do not believe that you can push a needle through an animals organs without causing that animal pain, as in the heart injection from the body cavity, it would have to travel though the diaphragm and the pericardia to get to the heart. Although I have no proof that the animal would feel it
  24. I had never heard of the injection in the stomach till you posted about it here. So I did some research, when they inject into the body cavity the object is to inject either the liver, heart, or kidneys. In some sates in the US they have to anaesthetise the animal and the animal has to be unconscious before they inject the animal in the body cavity. From what I read it can take up to 15 minutes for the animal to die. TC
