  1. As far as I can see, with what has been bandied around on the internet, if anyone of the names being mentioned did get to court, it would be possibly impossible for them to get a fair trial, on evidence alone. If the thoughts of the majority of the posters in this thread are indicative of the country at large. TC
  2. If they have names and accusations from individuals then I agree with you it is a matter for the police to investigate. TC
  3. That's a possibility if they can be proven to be impartial and have the neccessary experience in such matters. Somebody high up in an organisation that big surely MUST have the experience to run an enquiry ... Well I would at least hope so ... BUT I can't understand why it's an enquiry when its government officials being named and it would be the police arresting people if they were not government officials ......... Who has been named K ? As far as I can see, there are no actual people accused outright, just rumour and carefully worded innuendo towards certain individuals most de
  4. I must be honest, that photo really made me smile.Brilliant photo. TC
  5. There is a hell of a difference between having to run your dog anywhere and choosing to run it anywhere. When you have to run a dog no matter where, the decision is out of your hands, you may not like the ground but it's a risk you have to take. However, if you choose to run your dog anywhere, then the decisions is yours and yours alone. TC
  6. Pm some links please. Me first double please. TC
  7. So you are saying shooting does more harm than good? Get a grip. TC
  8. Tell your vet if they have seen your dog you want advocate for fleas and heart worm. With our vet it's £24 for three pippets. They should not want to see the dog. Our vet wants £12 for a prescription, to enable you to buy it on line. TC
  9. You have a 50/50 chance of being right there. TC
  10. Well fair play to the man, if they were all on it, then he was on a level playing field, and still come out on top. TC
  11. Bumper crops, are a sign of good pollination in the spring, not a hard winter to come. I seen my first black blackberry two weeks ago. TC
  12. A very astute observation BH and no doubt a truism. However, it does not address why the need for humans to employ tools to hunt? While other animals that are arguably the same age, if not as highly developed as man, have developed into niche hunters that need no tools to catch a living. TC
  13. Yep, your right. This is the sort of discussion I wanted. Over the last few nights I have watched a box set on sky go, Naked and afraid or something like that. Where people who have survival skills have to spend 21 days in a team of two in a survival situation. Some did not make it, others just scraped through. I know it is edited and just entertainment but there is an underlying truth there. One scene in particular brought about this train of thought. It was in a Louisiana swamp and all around them birds were picking food out of the water, yet they could not get anything to eat as th
  14. With all the tools available to them, I would have to agree with you. But without the tools? TC
  15. I was sitting here staring into my glass of cider, just thinking about things. When it struck me, that man has to be either the worst hunter on the planet or the greatest, depending on your point of view? How many humans could actually survive just by gathering food without tools. Very few animals in the wild actually use tools, there are some, I suppose the best example would be a spider web, Galapagos finches use sticks to prize grubs out of holes, some monkeys use stones to break pods to gain access to the kernels, a thrush will use an anvil to break snail shells and seagulls will drop
  16. As I said last year they nested under the shed, in the spring of this year there was one bee in and out of the shed almost all day. I finally tracked it down to an old cloth that was folded and it was coming in and out of the cloth between one of the folds. When I lifted the fold I could see the small balls of what I took to be pollen, even though it seemed powdery it was very sticky. I could not have a nest in such close proximity to where I work and it would be disturbed on a daily basis, so it had to go. My rational was that as the nest was in the very early stages if it was destroyed t
  17. I had one under the shed last year, no problem. This year they decided they would get out of the weather and came into the shed. That was a no no I could not have a nest right next to where I would be working so it had to go. Took a few photos before the nest was moved. Are these the balls of pollen?7 TC
  18. A good range of species there Mal, can't beat a bit of variety. TC
  19. What's the old saying?.... Rugby is a game for hooligans, played by gentlemen. Football is a game for gentlemen, played by hooligans. :whistling: TC
  20. ? Bit of an oxymoron there. The media means everyone who has an input to what we get to read or shoved down our throats every day. There is no disputing the fact that the media has a great influence on the way the people of this country think. And yes, I agree with you that it is controlled by decisions that are for betterment of some to the cost to others. The media as a whole is not impartial, and is agenda driven. If we just take the hunting ban as an example. The only people who have a moral right to be against the killing of animals are vegetarians and vegans. Any person who eat
  21. Forget the prime minister, forget the queen, It's the media that really holds the power. The media has the power to make or break anything. Clever editing can make even Jack the ripper sound like a philanthropist. In my opinion it has gone too far, they need curbing. No political party will do it though as they need them on side. If the media came out in favour of hunting, the ban would be repealed pretty quickly. The people of this country are on the whole sheep, they like being told what to do, and how to think. Saves them working things out for themselves! Thoughts? TC
  22. I don't follow league I follow union, but all the above comments are applicable. Get smashed with the ball, get up, no fuss and get on with the game. TC
  23. As stated above, a good dose of systemic weed killer will help a lot. Pick a windless day when spraying otherwise the other plot holders will not thank you. Or use a spray bar on a watering can, although spraying is the most economical with the weed killer there can be wind drift with it. TC
