Once again your attention to detail comes out on top. Those foot prints in the snow are a cracking touch. TC

What would the probe be for please genuinely interested? Would it be part of the rabbit trappers kit or for another application altogether? TC

Pretend Worms For Mole Control
Tiercel replied to shropshire mole's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Feck me there are some ego's in this forum. Some want to take their head out of their ar$e and give it a shake. No one is gods gift to trapping, no matter who you think you are, there is always someone that can help you when your stuck. TC -
They have been eating bark, is the usual cause. TC

Yep, that's pretty important. I would be using it on Jack Rabbits which have no protection what so ever in my state. I was told once if the rules do not say you can do it, then you cannot. It's like ferreting, that is banned in most of the states, no matter what species you are ferreting for. I know most of the American laws are very similar to Canadian, and long nets are banned in Ontario. I would honestly get on to the wildlife officer and find out for sure before you invest, and a long net capable of holding a Jack rabbit would not be cheap. TC

You just had to mention the "R" word didn't you! TC
-
The first one would be to find out if it is legal to use one in your state, you could end up with a costly mistake otherwise.. TC

We used to shoot 12G #6 at hilling moles and that would not kill them just stun them. Once the shot has been fired you had about 10 seconds to dig the mole out before it recovered. TC

Oh! Nice to see the Welsh contingent coming out of the woodwork. Been keeping your heads down for the last few weeks. Shall I expect another long silence after you play Ireland? Glad you enjoyed your St David's Day present. I expect you'd have enjoyed it more if your own team had beaten us instead of Ireland. Ireland deserved to win today and well done to them. On a side note, 'er indoors is being unbearable and doing the "L for loser" sign on her forehead whenever I look her way. It'll go with the knuckle marks she'll have later if she doesn't pack it in. As yet you do

Where's the wheels of the chariot gone? Best St David's day present ever. Well played Ireland, commiserations England not quite up to the Job. Come on Ireland see you in a fortnight...... TC

It was like a switch being thrown, once I hit 40 I found my arms were just not long enough. 20 years later I have to put two pairs on to read real small print. I even have the text on this lap top set at 125% TC

It will take more than a "ready to use" mole trap, for alot of 'novices',who want to try & catch their own,to be instantly successful,id bet ? I It will take more than a "ready to use" mole trap, for alot of 'novices',who want to try & catch their own,to be instantly successful,id bet ? A fair proportion will try & fail (for various reasons), then the moleman, will still get a shout,...lol I was just about to answer when your last post came on the screen. I have never set a mole trap in my life, yet from what I have read and the videos on you tube, I am con

Spalting is actually a collection of fungi attacking the wood at the same time the lines you see are where all the different fungi meet. They are called zone lines where that particular fungi is sort of setting out it territory so to speak. You can spalt your own wood quite easily and then you have more control over how far it goes. Search youtube for spalting wood and there are a few videos. Good article here. http://woodturninglearn.net/articles/spaltedwood.htm TC

I started my netting career in one of those, great boats for estuaries and lakes. They just glide through the water and once you get them going so easy to row. We had a little seagull engine on ours but rarely used it. TC

It's the same with any business you will have competition when people see your making a wage out of a job. The problem is that even though they do impact temporarily, they never last. As once they find out that it is hard work to get to where you are at at that moment, they soon give up. With my business people on face book have been offering the same service as myself for half what I charge, but once they add up the costs they soon stop. One woman was even advertising for a quarter of what I charge, think she lasted a week once she found out how much it was actually costing her. TC

As has been said, lay them flat. Although some will still bend even when tied in bundles. Just make sure they have air able to circulate around them and they will be fine. TC

I think everybody knows except you Probably. TC
