Well Well Well look who it is.You gunna join in fella and ruffle a few feathers.
-
Then why not just send him a pm rather than telling everyone who reads the thread

I don't know if it's just me or if I'm doing something wrong but it doesn't seem to matter how much I try to part the dogs coat and try to squirt it directly onto the skin it always seems to end up smeared all over their coat.

Stopped getting it a good few years ago.Met a few of the contributors at the time and realised that a lot of what I'd been reading and paying for was a load of old bo##ocks written by dreamers.
-
Why bother mentioning it then? You after a pat on the back or something?
-
I had a bitch down from banjo and rosita years back real steady laid back bitch that wouldn't bother anything if it didn't bother her she would even mother another bitches pups and would clean the terriers up for days after they had been out working.Had a tiny dog down from mac/violet he wouldn't have topped 25lb wanted to kill everything from the day I got him at 14 weeks old and would run in the shed as soon as he got the chance and stand beside the mill whining but if I bought him indoors he would just curl up on on my feet and wouldn't move all night if I didn't move him.

The Romans..... why's it called vikings then.
-
Thats a more sensible answer than the rambos on here who think they are going to survive with a knife and some fishing line.
-
You could cross the road without looking both ways and not get run over a hundred times a day.........but its not a sensible thing to do is it and only a fool would do it on purpose.........not implying your a fool you understand. Bullyson was a very well bred cur why shouldnt he produce good dogs. Thats what I'm getting at there's no real formula to breeding deep game dogs.Butif you was going to keep these kind for the purpose of working them surely you want a dog to get in there and get the job done.
-
Well if I could own a dog that could produce the likes of honeybunch who then went on to become probably the best producing bitch of all time I'm sure id find space for him.

If gameness could be truly be bred for then there would be no curs. But I know one thing if I was into such things if I had the option of owning a hard biting cur with loads of ability or a super game dog with no ability and a weak bite I'd take the cur all day long. Sure you might win more with a barnstorming rough cur but what have you really proved? Matching should always be about proving the gameness of your lines IMO, something a lot of breeders have forgotten in recent years sadly. Obviously in an ideal world you'd have ability, hard mouth and gameness all in a neat little package but

I've lost count of the amount of times I've had lads telling me about their dead game lurchers.
-
Not top bulldogs either.
-
I think he does haha.
-
Don't know if he still comes on here but there was a guy called bolthad some real tidy little russels might be worth dropping him a pm.
-
At least half of you're post mentions dogs bred out of stuff that wouldn't even get mentioned in bulldog circles.

Mine has done the same in places.I used a ready mix company as I had to lay it in a day on my own I wish I'd have knocked it up myself now.My mate is going to Tile mine in the summer 18squ metres he's told me to shop about and find the best deal on non slip porcelains.Im hoping to find some 600mm square tiles so there is less grout.I can't remember what adhesive and grout he said he would use but I know he said something about flexi. He said not to use quarry tiles as they are too porous.

You don't train a dog for earthwork you breed for it.
-
Every terrier I've ever owned has been allowed to bush rabbits and I've never had a problem with them messing with rabbits to ground I've also ratted with them when the opportunity arose and the brown bitch I my aviator also worked under hawks and was no less off a digging terrier for it.None of mine worked with ferrets but that's because I've no interest in ferreting but a mate of mine who used to come on here as Slips has had a few proper digging dogs (blacks)over the years that were as good as any at the ferreting job.
-
The reason i got a plummer is they are a multi purpose terrier more than most others are,ok earthwork is the main reason for keeping a working terrier but not many folk have lots of earthwork to go at so use a terrier that can turn it's hand to other task's easier than the more usual breeds of terrier. Not many pats or lakies will turn their hands to ferreting or bushing or even other tasks where they have to think a bit more but i have found my plummer can and does,i have well bred russells for my earth work and they do me just fine but i know if there's a tight spot and there's a fox at home

" thin on the ground ".....theres your answer.....some bloodlines that carried not even a tenth of the number of Reid dogs have aged and been preserved like a fine wine yet the Reid dogs were left to go to ruin. Some people dont look further than the end of their nose its like Jeep being a 17 point rom dog, so what the dog was lined to literally thousands of bitches over his lifetime, compared to a 7 point rom who only bred 7 bitches ....it doesnt take a brain surgeon to work out which the better producer was !! I've always said that the ROM list would be more credible if it was done
