  1. Some nice cream dogs there fella's....looking very good indeed. Funny how there's more and more creams being bred, it's the most dominant colour today i would say, almost a strain by themselves.......
  2. Get someone with some experience and confidence to have a look at it mate......
  3. People tend to forget that the Deerhound was a Scottish hound to run the open moors and deal with large, fast and quarry little else could come to terms with, sadly id be dubious about any so called pure blood being able to do a quarter of what the original took as the norm. Now i will stand corrected but i believe the deerhound was bred to deal with injured quarry, mainly red deer that had been shot and injured by the early guns of the time which were very inaccurate. I was actually having a cup of tea with a guy who slipped and judged deerhounds for a few years back in the day. They caught
  4. That's a cracking munty buck! Very nice head gear on him...
  5.     IMO I don't really think it's possible to lump reds in with the other five. For me, in the daytime, I've always thought fallow were good, very good, but I ran all the other species and found good individuals amongst them too. Reds aside, i always thought a roe, and educated one that knew what was waiting for it outside the wood, was the hardest deer for a dog to get up to.....roe get slagged off, but it's mainly by lads who've often only lamped them. Well, I don't think lamping gives a man a fair estimation of how good, or bad, a deer is, or any quarry species
  6. IMO the answer to the posters question is "It depends if your saluki is fast enough". Today i don't believe we need any addition of greyhound blood to the coursing gene pool. There's plenty enough very fast saluki hybrids with great feet, great wind and that all-too-important instinct around to bother going to a dog that has neither of the three. IMO using a greyhound over todays coursing dog is going backwards, not forwards. But that's JMHO....JD
  7. Well I've learnt something new there. I never realized that grey herons differed enough in size to be able to be sexed in the wild........Cheers JD

  13. Was the excuse....... "Whilst I showered, Frisky my pet hamster, retrieved a bar of soap to me. But unfortunately said bar of soap wasn't seen by me. I slipped on soap and fell, landed awkwardly on Frisky and he entered my back passage."

  15. One of my best mates died when he, or his mate, put a loaded shotgun in the car. terrier jumped in, landed on trigger and that was that. When I got the phone call I thought it was one of his 'jokes', getting someone to ring me and pretend it was dead as we were always winding each other up. Sadly, this time it was real. tragic. You can never be too safe with guns.Ever.
